Established a joint venture with CARIAD
-The Company announced the official establishment of CARIZON, a joint venture (JV) with CARIAD, a VW Group software subsidiary.Located in Beijing, the JV plans to recruit over 300 employees by the end of 2023. Integrating Horizon Robotics’ robust technology capabilities of combining software and hardware with CARIAD’s expertise in integration of intelligent vehicle bodies and software systems, CARIZON will develop an industry-leading, highly optimized full-stack advanced driver assistance system and autonomous driving solutions. The company will conduct R&D based on the Horizon Robotics Journey computing solution family and apply its intelligent driving solutions to VW Group battery electric models in the Chinese market. (From a Horizon Robotics press release dated December 8, 2023)

Strategic cooperation

OEMs
-Neta Auto announced that it signed an agreement on comprehensively deepening strategic cooperation with Horizon Robotics at the Auto Shanghai 2023 event. The two parties will deepen their cooperation around algorithms and technologies such as BEV based on the Journey 5 high-level intelligent driving-dedicated chip to build a high-level NOA (Navigation On Autopilot) intelligent assisted driving system. The system will be applied to a variety of models, among which the first cooperative model will be put into mass production in 2024. The two parties have achieved a number of results since the partnership was reached in 2021, with Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 chip already installed in models such as the Neta U-II and the Neta GT. Horizon Robotics also announced at the event that shipments of the Journey 5 chip have exceeded 100,000 and that it has been designated by a total of nine automakers for mass production of nearly 20 models. -The Company announced that it signed a strategic partnership agreement with Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC Group) for the joint development of smart driving solutions. Under the agreement, BAIC Group will push ahead with the development and application of its smart driving solutions based on the entire Journey series chips of Horizon Robotics. -The Company announced that it has signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with GAC Aion. According to the agreement, GAC Aion will build technologically advanced intelligent products based on Horizon Robotics’ Journey series chips and focusing on the R&D and application of intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit interaction platforms. So far, models equipped with Journey 2 chips have achieved mass production (the Aion Y with the Journey 2 chip launched in April 2021), and the two parties are now exploring cooperation based on all the full series of Journey chips including the Journey 5. Suppliers
-The Company announced the official formation of a strategic partnership with StradVision, a deep learning visual perception technology company. The two parties will jointly provide tier-1 suppliers and OEMs with high-cost-performance intelligent driving solutions based on StradVision’s perception technologies and Horizon Robotics’ Journey series chips. (From a Horizon Robotics press release dated October 92023) 

-The Company announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with NavInfo Co., Ltd. (NavInfo) on deepening cooperation in such fields as intelligent driving systems. According to the agreement, in the future, the two parties will create high-level intelligent driving solutions based on Horizon Robotics’ Journey 5 chip and NavInfo’s intelligent driving system capabilities. Concurrently, they will jointly develop a new driving-cockpit integration system with high computing power and high integration giving full play to the advantages of the Journey series chips and NavInfo’s cockpit and MCU chips to combine the intelligent cockpit domain and the intelligent driving domain for optimal allocation of hardware resources and hardware cost reduction for a single function. -The Company announced that it will conduct in-depth strategic cooperation with Aptiv and Wind River, an Aptiv subsidiary, for which it will empower Aptiv and Wind River with the capability of creating fully integrated software and hardware solutions for automakers based on the Journey series chips. Horizon Robotics will enable the Journey series chips to support multiple Wind River software products such as the Wind River VxWorks real-time operating system, the Wind River Helix virtual platform, Wind River Linux, Wind River Studio, container architecture, and middleware. -The Company announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Joynext Technology, a Joyson Electronic subsidiary. Horizon Robotics will provide intelligent automotive solutions based on “chips + reference algorithms + development tools”, including automotive-grade chips, in-vehicle computing platforms, visual perception, and human-computer interaction (HMI). Joynext Technology will, based on automotive-grade autonomous driving technology accumulation, work with Horizon Robotics to promote product development in such fields as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), autonomous driving, and intelligent HMI to accelerate the mass production of autonomous driving solutions. -The Company announced that it will conduct in-depth strategic cooperation with ZF. Based on Horizon Robotics’ Journey series automotive intelligent chips and ZF’s capabilities of algorithm development and hardware design and manufacturing, Horizon Robotics will empower ZF to develop computing platform solutions with high performance, high quality, and a world-class development level. ZF will develop the Chinese version of the ProAI high-performance computing platform solution based on Horizon Robotics chips to tailor a scalable computing platform supporting high-performance navigation and driving assistance systems for Chinese automakers. The systems can be equipped with 6-12 cameras, 5-6 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, while LiDARs can be added as an expansion to support application in more scenarios and meet customers’ differentiated needs. ZF plans to use the Journey 5 chip and its successor for development to meet different customers’ needs for performance and time nodes. -The Company announced that it formed a strategic partnership with KargoBot, a Didi Autonomous Driving freight transportation subsidiary. According to the agreement, the two parties will develop domain controllers with high performance, high reliability, and high redundancy for unmanned trucks based on the Journey series chips to meet the computing power requirements of Level 4 autonomous driving systems for high-speed data processing, real-time environment perception, and real-time intelligent decision-making, and support autonomous driving trucks in providing safer and smoother transportation services. For this, Horizon Robotics will provide high-performance automotive intelligent chips to realize high integration and a high computing power, and KargoBot will provide high-efficiency algorithms and stable software support for domain controllers. The first co-developed autonomous driving domain controller is expected to officially achieve mass production in 2024 and will be first applied to KargoBot’s first mass-produced model. -The Company announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Keboda Technology Corporation (Keboda Technology), a provider of autonomous driving solutions, to cooperate on product development and technology exploration. Based on Horizon Robotics’ high-performance Journey series chips, Keboda Technology will develop domain controllers for different levels and scenarios as well as intelligent driving overall solutions, and will provide active safety features such as in-house developed AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) and AES (Automatic Emergency Steering), driving features such as IALC (Intelligent Automatic Lane Change) and NOA (Navigation On Autopilot), and products for automated parking. -The Company announced that it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dazhuo Intelligent, a subsidiary of Chery. The two companies will work together to accelerate the popularization of autonomous driving. Under the agreement, Horizon Robotics will assist Dazhuo Intelligent in developing ADAS and domain controller series and solutions based on the Journey series chips. The products will be installed in multiple Chery-branded models. The two companies will also collaborate on hardware, software, algorithms and tool chains for efficient development and integration. -The Company announced that it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems Co., Ltd. (Xingyu Lighting). Based on automotive chips and algorithms, the two companies set three business goals: compliance with vehicle regulations, mass production, and qualified for delivery. Horizon Robotics and Xingyu Lighting will jointly promote the mass production and commercialization of integrated driving and parking solutions, and strive to make this technology a standard feature of smart cars. In addition, Xingyu Lighting’s integrated driving and parking solution built on the Horizon Robotics Journey 3 chip has been ordered by a leading Chinese automaker, with mass production scheduled to begin in 2023. -The Company announced that it has reached a comprehensive strategic cooperation with Pony.ai. Based on Horizon Robotics’ Journey series automotive intelligent chips and Pony.ai’s in-house developed driving-parking integration intelligent driving algorithms, Horizon Robotics will empower Pony.ai to create mass-producible intelligent driving solutions that feature both high performance and high cost performance. Orders

-The Company announced that the STERRA ES, a model under Chery’s EXEED brand, will have Horizon Robotics’s Journey 3 chip and Horizon Matrix Mono 3 monocular visual perception solution as standard features. The STERRA ES will achieve multiple Level 2 driver assistance functions such as NEP full lane cruise, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). Max, the long range variant of the STERRA ES, is equipped with the HoloArk 1.0 autonomous driving domain controller based on dual Journey 3 chips, delivering a total computing power of 18TOPS. It will achieve integrated functions of driving and parking, including NEP high-speed navigation, lane change by lever, automatic parking, remote parking, and memory parking (From a press release dated December 22, 2023)

-The Company announced the official launch of the Venucia VX6, the first cooperative production model with Dongfeng Nissan. The 520 Pro and 520 Max variants both adopt Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 chip and Horizon Matrix Mono 3 monocular visual perception solution, of which the former enables a multitude of Level 2 intelligent driver assistance features such as ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control), ELKA (Emergency Lane Keep Assist), LKA (Lane Keep Assist), and TJA (Traffic Jam Assist). -The Company announced that the 145 Max variant of the Changan Qiyuan A05 is  equipped with the ODIN digital and intelligent solution of Freetech Intelligent Systems Co., Ltd. (Freetech) to enable Level 2 ADAS features. Based on a Horizon Robotics Journey 2 chip and the Horizon Matrix Mono 2 monocular visual perception solution, the ODIN solution is C-NCAP ADAS 5-star certified. -The Company announced that equipped with Freetech’s ODIN digital intelligent chassis solution based on its Journey 2 chip, the newly launched Wuling Victory Hybrid Platinum Edition is capable of all features of the Level 2 ADAS intelligent driving system. Investment

-Guangzhou KargoBot Technology Co., Ltd. (KargoBot) announced that it received a strategic investment from Horizon Robotics. The two parties will promote technological and commercial cooperation on high-performance autonomous driving domain controllers to accelerate the large-scale unmanned and commercial application of the KargoBot intelligent formation system in the trunk logistics field. KargoBot, a DiDi Autonomous Driving-incubated company, has been focusing on the R&D and commercial operation of unmanned driving technologies for Level 4 trunk logistics since February 2021. Since the April 2023 signing of a strategic cooperation agreement, the two parties have launched joint R&D and verification of unmanned driving-oriented domain controllers based on Horizon Robotics Journey chips. (From a KargoBot press release dated December 11, 2023)

(Huacheng Certification). Huacheng Certification, a CATARC (China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd.) subsidiary, has developed and released “CATARC Mark Certification Implementation Rules - Trusted Security Level Assessment of Automotive SoC Chips” based on trusted security testing, key performance and reliability testing and evaluation of in-vehicle computing. Exhibitions

-The Company unveiled the Journey 6 next-generation automotive intelligent computing solution at the Auto Guangzhou 2023. This solution series, based on the unified BPU Nash computing architecture, will be officially launched in April 2024 and be delivered to the first production models in Q4 2024. Specifically developed for next-generation advanced intelligent driving in urban areas, the Journey 6 Flagship delivers a computing power as high as 560TOPS and has efficient support for advanced models such as BEV and Transformer. Also disclosed at the event were intended partners for mass production of the solution series, including BYD, GAC Group, VW Group’s CARIAD software subsidiary, and Bosch. (From a Horizon Robotics press release dated November 17, 2023)
