New products

-The company announced that its subsidiary, Guangxi SKY Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. (SKY Cloud), unveiled a product platform named SKY. SKY endeavors to provide companies and institutions with professional solutions in five areas: autonomous driving, intelligent connectivity, equipment management, maintenance management, and supply chain management. The platform enjoys various functions and strong scalability. It is also equipped with professional data analysis tools. -The company announced at the 2024 Yuchai Group Partner Conference the introduction of 15 new engine offerings including the YCK16N high-horsepower gas engine, the YCK15 China-6 diesel engine, and the YCF11 three-cylinder diesel engine. The YCK16N high-horsepower gas engine delivers a maximum power of 660hp and a peak torque of 3,000Nm. Its B10 lifetime reaches 1.8 million kilometers. -The company announced the release of its commercially available flexible fuel engine platform and engines that meet China-6 fuel consumption regulations. The platform can be flexibly matched to various fuels by only adjusting the fuel system and software through in-house developed controllers and a universal cylinder cover design. The YCK15N gas and YCK15 diesel engines, the first products based on this platform, will be available in 2023, with a displacement of 14.8L and a maximum output power of 700hp for the diesel version and 570hp for the gas version. Based on the SKY high-end power customization platform, Yuchai Group also launched other China-6-compliant engines such as the YCS04, the YCS06, the YCS07, the YCK09L, and the YCK12L. -The company announced the successful casting of the first cast QT900-2 high-strength and high-rigidity nodular cast iron cylinder block, which has higher blank surface quality and better body anatomy and body performance tests results than the original cylinder block, as well as a 30% weight reduction. -The company announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Guangxi Yuchai CrankShaft Co., Ltd., started production of a high-end crankshaft product ordered by a German automaker. New Projects

-The company announced that its subsidiary, Yuchaixinlan New Energy Power Technology Co., Ltd. (Yuchaixinlan), will build its hydrogen energy headquarters (HQ) in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District. Yuchaixinlan plans to invest a total of more than CNY 1.7 billion in the next 10 years, which will lead to a cumulative sales revenue in excess of CNY 13.5 billion. The HQ will focus on cutting-edge industry sectors such as fuel cell systems and green hydrogen production equipment. Yuchai intends to set up a joint research center for smart low-carbon energy and power with Tsinghua University, aiming to develop its hydrogen energy business in the HQ. Orders

-Yuchai Group's new high-horsepower gas engines, the K14N and K15N, will be supplied to mainstream vehicle models of FAW Jiefang, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Foton Auman, Dongfeng Liuzhou, Dongfeng Xinjiang, and Shaanxi Commercial Vehicle.

-In the field of pure electric drive systems, Yuchai Core Lan has completed the development of 2T/2.5T/3.5T/49T pure electric products. The entire series of products is supplied to major manufacturers such as FAW Jiefang, Geely, Liuzhou, Wuzheng, and Tri-Ring.

-In the field of fuel cell power systems, Yuchai Core Lan is demonstrating a hydrogen fuel cell bus in Beijing Daxing using its self-developed high-output product with over 150kW output.

Strategic support

-The company announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Brunel University London (Brunel). According to the MoC, the two parties will partner in areas such as high-efficiency zero-emission hydrogen-ammonia fuel engines, advanced methanol fuel engines, and other engine technologies to make concerted efforts in achieving continued leadership in advanced technologies for future powertrains. Exhibitions

-The company announced its participation in the 22nd China International Exhibition on Internal Combustion Engine & Powertrain Equipment (ICE&PE 2023) held in Nanjing. At the event, the company debuted the YCK09L and YCY25 2nd-generation China-6 emission standard-compliant diesel engine lineups, which fully meet China’s Phase IV fuel economy regulations. Specifically, the 13L and 15L heavy-duty engines are China’s first engines to achieve an over 50% thermal efficiency and commercial application adopting existing components. Also exhibited was YCPD-eCVT, the world’s first multi-functional power-split plug-in hybrid system developed by Yuchai Group’s Synland subsidiary. -The company announced its participation in the 2023 China Commercial Vehicles Show (CCVS) held in Wuhan from November 8 to 11. (Yuchai Foundry), its subsidiary, participated in GIFA 2023, where main products such as cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, and chassis parts were exhibited. Yuchai Foundry, a Yuchai Group wholly-owned subsidiary, mainly manufactures such products as cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, exhaust pipes, flywheel housings, oil pans, axle housings, differential gears, gear carriers, planet carriers, and flanges, with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons of castings. -The company announced its participation in the 25^th China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC) held from May 26 to 30 with its K05H hydrogen engine. The K05H hydrogen engine follows the technical solution of its parent product, the K05 China-6-compliant diesel engine, as well as the parts supply, manufacturing, and customer support systems, and will form a combined product with the Yuchai Synland hydrogen fuel cell. Subsidiary

-The company announced that its subsidiary, Yuchaixinlan (Jiangsu) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has begun operations in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. Total investment was approximately CNY 1.7 billion, and the business scope is the development and sale of products such as fuel cell systems and green hydrogen production equipment. The annual production capacity is over 2,000 fuel cell systems and over 500MW of hydrogen production equipment, and once fully operational, annual sales are expected to exceed CNY 5 billion. -The company announced that it unveiled a wholly-owned subsidiary named Guangxi SKY Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. (SKY Cloud), with a registered capital of CNY 10 million. SKY Cloud runs two major businesses: one is to develop products based on Yuchai’s automotive connectivity platform SKY; the other is to impart Yuchai’s manufacturing management experience to its upstream and downstream partners through digital transformation. -The company announced that the Guangxi NEV Powertrain Lab owned by its subsidiary, Yuchai Xinlan New Energy Power Technology Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Xinland), has been recognized as a 2023 Guangxi Key Laboratory. In 2022, Yuchai Xinland developed an integrated flywheel range extender. To date, Yuchai Xinland holds more than 200 patents in the field of NEV powertrains, including the IE-Power, a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) hybrid powertrain designed for tractors; a high-power range extender which has been installed in smart mining trucks; and a gas-electric hybrid system which has been installed in 10-meter-long buses. -The company announced that its subsidiary, Yuchaixinlan New Energy Power Technology Co., Ltd. (Yuchaixinlan), secured an investment of nearly CNY 100 million. The investors include Nanning municipal government agencies like Nanning Industrial Investment New Energy Automobile Investment Co., Ltd. The proceeds will be conducive to the product development and marketing of Yuchaixinlan. It will also enable this company to forge alliance with state-owned industrial funds in its region. -The company announced that its subsidiary, Beijing Yuchai Xingshunda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Xingshunda), saw its first hydrogen fuel cell roll off the assembly line. The 90kW hydrogen fuel cell features an end-faced interface and flat system. It has a power generation efficiency of 60% and supports unassisted cold start at -30°C. It is applicable to 10-12m buses and 8-18t medium- and heavy-duty trucks. It has met the relevant standards of hydrogen fuel cell system products and will be installed on Higer’s 12m tourist buses. It will be available to end users in 2023. Yuchai Xingshunda's hydrogen fuel cell system assembly line is a production line independently designed by Yuchai Group. With an annual production capacity of 1,000 units, it is a fully flexible cellular production line, covering the production of 90kW-200kW hydrogen fuel cell systems. Guangxi Yuchai Engineering Research Institute	-Established in 2007, this research institute conducts its development activities in four divisions: Product engineering division; Electronic control technology division; Test engineering division, and Technology management division. -Mainly conducts R&D activities on low-exhaust-emission products and passenger-car diesel engines.
Joint Laboratory for Internal Combustion Engines	-Established in 2009, the testing laboratory conducts research and development on combustion technology for diesel engines as well as R&D activities on automotive noise, vibration, and harshness and intake systems.
Dalian Yuchai Turbocharging Technology Rresearch and Development Center Co., Ltd.	-Established in 2013, the center conducts research and development activities on large turbochargers used in marine and automotive applications.
National Engineering Practice Education Center	-Established in 2011 with Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST).
Guangxi Diesel Engine Engineering Institute	-Construction to be fully funded by the Group; construction to begin in 2012; construction period: 3 years.
Prototype production center of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.	-Established in 2014, covered 7,000 square meters of land. -For rapid manufacturing of new products, and the development, testing and research of new materials, new processes, new technologies and new methods. -Consists of three centers for prototype creation, new product assembly, and new product machining.
Yuchai Advanced Technology Research Institute	-Established in 2021. -Conducts R&D activities on high-efficiency combustion, exhaust-gas controls, intelligent control systems, new-energy power, and others.
Guangxi Industrial Research Institute Yuchai Xinlan New Energy Power Research Institute	-Established in 2023. -The company announced the official establishment of a joint New Energy power research institute among Yuchai Synland Technology Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Synland), a subsidiary; the Guangxi Institute of Industrial Technology (GIIT); and GIIT Investment and Development Co., Ltd. (GIIT I&D). The research institute will focus on the technological innovation and development needs of the New Energ as well as the transformation of scientific and technological achievements y power industry, including breakthroughs in engineering and commercialization technologies to provide New Energy power solutions for commercial vehicles (CVs) in China and contribute to the upgrading of China’s CV power industry.
