U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,603,129 units in December were down 5.2% as compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales rose 1.7% from last December to 1,084,804 units, while passenger car sales declined 17.0% to 518,325 units.
Total sales for 2017 were down 1.8% from 2016 levels to 17,230,436 units.
Truck and SUV sales for the full year were up 4.3% to 10,897,511 units, while passenger car sales were down 10.9% to 6,332,925 units for 2017.
The overall SAAR for December was 17.85 million units.
The SAAR was 6.09 million units for passenger cars and 11.76 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales decreased 3.4% in December, with passenger car sales down 34.9% from last year.
Ford sales were up 1.3% and FCA sales were down 10.7% compared to December sales last year.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda sales were down 8.3%, 9.5%, 7.0%, respectively, while Subaru sales were up 0.3% compared to last December.
Kia sales decreased 20.8%, while Hyundai sales increased 2.1% from last December.
Among German companies, Daimler and BMW sales increased 6.4% and 3.7% respectively, while Volkswagen Group sales decreased 5.4% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales decreased 4.4%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales decreased 9.4% from last December.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,393,010 units in November were up 0.9% compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales increased 6.6% from last November to 905,699 units, while passenger car sales declined 8.2% to 487,311 units.
The overall SAAR was 17.48 million units.
The SAAR was 6.39 million units for passenger cars and 11.08 million units for trucks in November.
Ford sales were up 7.0% compared to last November as a result of strong truck sales, while General Motors and FCA sales were down 2.9% and 3.7%, respectively.
Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales were up 13.9%, 8.3%, and 0.8%, respectively, while Toyota sales were down 3.0% compared to last year.
Hyundai sales decreased 8.5% while Kia sales decreased 15.6% from November last year.
Among German companies, Daimler, BMW, and VW sales increased 2.2%, 4.6%, and 3.2%, respectively, from the same month last year.
Volvo sales increased 1.7%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 9.1% from last November.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,354,875 units in October were down 1.3% compared to the same month in 2016, with the recent sales boost after Hurricane Harvey winding down.
Truck and SUV sales increased 3.6% from last October to 876,140 units, while passenger car sales declined 9.1% to 478,735 units.
With an overall SAAR of 18.09 million units, October was the second highest month in 2017.
The SAAR was 6.56 million units for passenger cars and 11.52 million units for trucks in October.
Ford sales were up 6.4% compared to last October as a result of strong truck sales, while General Motors and FCA sales were down 2.3% and 13.2%, respectively.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales were up 1.1%, 8.4%, 0.9%, and 0.5%, respectively, compared to last year.
Hyundai sales decreased 15.2% while Kia sales decreased 9.4% from October last year.
Among German companies, Daimler sales decreased 0.8% and BMW sales decreased an estimated 4.5%, while Volkswagen Group sales increased 10.7% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales increased 10.5%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales decreased 4.4% from last October.

U.S. car sales jump 6.1% in September
U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,523,867 units in September were up 6.1% compared to the same month in 2016, due in part to the demand for replacement vehicles after the disastrous effects of Hurricane Harvey.
Truck and SUV sales increased 12.4% from last September to 967,547 units, while passenger car sales declined 3.3% to 556,320 units.
At 18.57 million units, the overall SAAR for September was at its highest point for 2017.
The SAAR was 6.81 million units for passenger cars and 11.76 million units for trucks.
General Motors and Ford sales were up 11.8% and 8.9%, respectively, while FCA sales sank 9.7% compared to September last year.
Passenger car sales for GM, Ford, and FCA were down 11.4%, 1.3%, and 25.5%, respectively, continuing their slide.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales were up 14.9%, 9.5%, 6.8%, and 0.4%, respectively, compared to last September.
Hyundai sales decreased 14.4%, with passenger cars down 26.0%, while Kia sales increased 6.6%, with passenger cars up 15.0% from September last year.
Among German companies, BMW and Daimler sales decreased 0.2% and 2.2%, respectively, while Volkswagen Group sales increased 22.8% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales increased 40.7% and Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 16.9% from last September.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,483,330 units in August were down 1.9% compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales increased 2.4% from last August to 933,581 units, while passenger car sales declined 8.5% to 549,749 units.
The overall SAAR for August was 16.14 million units.
The SAAR was 6.03 million units for passenger cars and 10.11 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were up 7.4%, Ford sales were down 2.1%, and FCA sales were down 10.6% compared to August last year, with passenger car sales down 13.2%, 8.6%, and 15.9% respectively.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota was up 6.8% and Subaru was up 4.6%, while Nissan was down 13.1% and Honda was down 2.4% compared to last August.
Hyundai sales decreased 24.6%, with passenger car sales down 32.8%, while Kia sales decreased 1.7%, with passenger cars up 9.2% from August last year.
Among German companies, BMW and Daimler sales decreased 8.0% and 8.5% respectively, while Volkswagen Group sales increased 6.1% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales increased 4.1% and Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 1.0% from last August.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,415,139 units in July were down 7.0% compared to the same month in 2016 as passenger car sales sputtered and OEMs trimmed fleet sales.
Truck and SUV sales decreased 2.5% from last July to 890,119 units, while passenger car sales declined 13.8% to 525,020 units.
The overall SAAR for July was 16.73 million units.
The SAAR was 6.21 million units for passenger cars and 10.52 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were down 15.5%, Ford sales were down 7.4%, and FCA sales were down 10.5% compared to July last year, with passenger car sales down 31.5%, 19.4%, and 17.7% respectively.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota was up 3.6% and Subaru was up 6.9%, while Nissan was down 3.2% and Honda was down 1.2% compared to last July.
Hyundai sales decreased 27.9%, with passenger car sales down 43.2%, while Kia sales decreased 5.9% from July last year.
Among German companies, BMW, Daimler, and Volkswagen Group sales decreased 13.6%, 10.7%, and 2.6% respectively from the same month last year.
Volvo sales decreased 18.8% and Jaguar Land Rover sales decreased 4.1% from last July.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,474,360 units in June were down 3.0% compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales increased 4.1% from last June to 933,378 units, while passenger car sales declined 13.2% to 540,982 units.
Total light vehicle sales of 8,452,453 units for the first six months of 2017 were down 2.1% compared to the same period in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales of 5,228,512 units for the first six months were up 4.6%, while passenger car sales of 3,223,941 units were down 11.4% from the same six-month period in 2016.
The overall SAAR for June was 16.51 million units.
The SAAR was 5.91 million units for passenger cars and 10.59 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were down 4.8%, Ford sales were down 5.0%, and FCA sales were down 7.4% compared to June last year.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota was up 2.1%, Nissan was up 2.0%, and Honda was up 0.8%, while Subaru was up 11.7% compared to last May.
Hyundai sales decreased 19.3% and Kia sales decreased 10.3% from last year.
Among German companies, BMW sales decreased 1.1%, Daimler sales increased 1.1%, and Volkswagen Group sales increased 10.8% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales decreased 15.0%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 3.1% from last June.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,519,175 units in May were down 0.5% compared to the same month in 2016, despite one extra selling day.
Truck and SUV sales increased 6.0% from last May to 935,170 units, while passenger car sales declined 9.3% to 584,005 units.
The overall SAAR for May was 16.66 million units.
The SAAR was 6.20 million units for passenger cars and 10.46 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were down 1.3% and FCA sales were down 0.9%, but Ford sales were up 2.2% compared to May last year, with passenger car sales down 11.5%, 24.3%, and 10.0% respectively.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota was down 0.5%, while Nissan, Honda, and Subaru were up 3.0%, 0.9%, and 12.1% respectively compared to last May.
Hyundai sales decreased 15.5% while Kia sales decreased 7.0% from last year.
Among German companies, BMW and Daimler sales decreased 11.0% and 7.0% respectively while Volkswagen Group sales increased 3.8% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales increased 12.0%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 13.9% from last May.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,426,126 units in April were down 4.7% compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales declined 0.1% from last April to 868,814 units, while passenger car sales declined 11.1% to 557,312 units.
The overall SAAR for April was 16.88 million units.
The SAAR was 6.42 million units for passenger cars and 10.46 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were down 5.9%, Ford sales were down 7.1% and FCA sales were down 6.8% compared to April last year, with passenger car sales down 12.5%, 21.2%, and 23.4% respectively.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda were down 4.4%, 1.5%, and 7.0% respectively, while Subaru sales were up 3.9% compared to last April.
Hyundai sales increased 1.3% while Kia sales decreased 5.6% from last year.
Among German companies, BMW and Daimler sales decreased 12.1% and 8.7% respectively while Volkswagen Group sales increased 3.1% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales increased 15.5%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 34.5% from last April.

U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,333,637 units in February were down 1.1% as compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales rose 6.9% from last February to 831,337 units, while passenger car sales declined 12.1% to 502,300 units.
The overall SAAR for February was 17.58 million units.
The SAAR was 6.53 million units for passenger cars and 11.05 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were up 4.1% as light truck sales jumped 16.5% from February 2016, while passenger car sales fell 22.7%.
Ford sales were down 4.0% and FCA sales were down 10.1% compared to February last year, with passenger car sales down 24.0% and 26.1% respectively.
Among Japanese companies, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Mazda and Mitsubishi sales were up 3.7%, 2.3%, 8.3%, 5.9% and 38.8% respectively compared to last February.
Hyundai sales were flat while Kia sales decreased 14.2% from last year.
Among German companies, Daimler and Volkswagen Group sales increased 6.8% and 14.4% respectively, while BMW Group sales declined 2.3% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales decreased 11.6%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 16.4% from last February.

U.S. car sales down 1.8% in January 2017
U.S. light vehicle sales of 1,143,549 units in January were down 1.8% as compared to the same month in 2016.
Truck and SUV sales rose 5.7% from last January to 715,953 units, while passenger car sales declined 12.2% to 427,596 units.
The overall SAAR for January was 17.61 million units.
The SAAR was 6.58 million units for passenger cars and 11.03 million units for trucks.
General Motors sales were down 3.9% as passenger car sales slid 21.1% from January 2016.
Ford sales were down 0.7% and FCA sales were down 11.2% compared to January last year, with passenger car sales down 17.5% and 35.8% respectively.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota sales were down 11.3%, while Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales were up 6.2%, 5.9%, and 6.8% respectively compared to last January.
Hyundai sales increased 3.3%, while Kia sales decreased 7.0% from last year.
Among German companies, Daimler and Volkswagen Group sales increased 3.5% and 15.1% respectively, while BMW sales declined 0.2% from the same month last year.
Volvo sales decreased 18.2%, while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 29.9% from last January.
