On January 4, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 253,950 new passenger car registrations in December, a 1.0% decrease from the same month last year.
Full-year registrations of 3,441,262 vehicles in 2017 represented an increase of 2.7% from 2016.
Volkswagen brand sales of 46,587 units (18.3% market share) increased 8.9% in December compared to the same month last year.
BMW sales of 24,821 units (9.8% share) increased 9.9% from last year.
Ford sales of 20,132 units (7.9% share) increased 7.5% in December.
Mercedes sales of 18,804 units (7.4% share) decreased 14.7% from last year.
Audi brand sales of 17,638 units (6.9% share) decreased 2.9% from the same month last year.
Opel sales of 17,149 units (6.8% share) decreased 10.4% in December.
Sales of 26,317 trucks in December represented an increase of 0.4% from the previous year’s results, while the sales of 818 buses were a 10.2% decrease from last December.
In 2017, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 57.7% market share, diesel vehicles had a 38.8% market share. Hybrid vehicles had a 2.5% and BEV had a 0.7% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 305,700 units were basically flat and domestic production of 361,700 units had decreased 2% from last December.
Full-year passenger car exports of 4,373,500 units had decreased 1% from 2016, while full-year domestic production of 5,647,100 units represented a 2% decrease over 2016.

On December 4, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 302,636 new passenger car registrations in November, an 9.4% increase from the same month last year.
Year-to-date registrations of 3,187,312 vehicles in the first eleven months of the year represented an increase of 3.0% from the same period in 2016.
Volkswagen brand sales of 58,209 units (19.2% market share) increased 8.2% in November compared to the same month in 2016.
Mercedes sales of 28,687 units (9.5% share) increased 0.6% from last year.
Audi sales of 22,949 units (7.6% share) increased 12.0% in November.
Ford sales of 21,972 units (7.3% share) increased 17.4% from last year.
BMW sales of 21,960 units (7.3% share) decreased 1.6% from the same month last year.
Opel sales of 19,820 units (6.5% share) increased 2.6% in November.
Sales of 29,356 trucks in November represented a increase of 7.6% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 741 buses represented an increase of 2.5%.
In November, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 61.7% market share, diesel vehicles had a 34.0% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 437,900 units had increased 6% and domestic production of 579,600 units had increased 8% from last November.

On November 2, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 272,855 new passenger car registrations in October, an 3.9% increase from the same month last year.
Year-to-date registrations of 2,884,676 vehicles in the first ten months of the year represented an increase of 2.3% from the same period in 2016.
Volkswagen brand sales of 50,331 units (18.4% market share) increased 1.8% in October compared to the same month in 2016.
Mercedes sales of 26,625 units (9.8% share) increased 6.9% from last year.
Audi sales of 21,651 units (7.9% share) decreased 7.0% in October.
Ford sales of 21,277 units (7.8% share) increased 12.8% from last year.
Opel sales of 19,347 units (7.1% share) decreased 1.2% from the same month last year.
BMW sales of 18,734 units (6.9% share) decreased 9.1% in October.
Sales of 27,274 trucks in October represented a increase of 17.2% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 349 buses represented an decrease of 35.4%.
In October, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 60.9% market share, diesel vehicles had a 34.9% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 315,000 units had decreased 11% and domestic production of 414,100 units had decreased 11% from last October.

On October 5, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 288,035 new passenger car registrations in September, an 3.3% decrease from the same month last year.
Year-to-date registrations of 2,611,821 vehicles in the first nine months of the year represented an increase of 2.2% from the same period in 2016.
Volkswagen brand sales of 53,268 units (18.5% market share) decreased 8.2% in September compared to the same month in 2016.
Mercedes sales of 28,139 units (9.8% share) decreased 2.0% from last year.
BMW sales of 24,812 units (8.6% share) increased 3.6% in September.
Opel sales of 21,764 units (7.6% share) decreased 0.3% from last year.
Audi sales of 20,614 units (7.2% share) decreased 8.6% from the same month last year.
Skoda sales of 19,484 units (6.8% share) increased 11.6% in September.
Sales of 25,511 trucks in September represented a increase of 7.9% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 431 buses represented an increase of 2.6%.
In September, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 59.7% market share, diesel vehicles had a 36.3% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 410,100 units had increased 1% and domestic production of 522,780 units had decreased 1% from last September.

On September 4, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 253,679 new passenger car registrations in August, an 3.5% increase from the same month last year.
Year-to-date registrations of 2,323,785 vehicles in the first seven months of the year represented an increase of 2.9% from the same period in 2016.
Volkswagen brand sales of 43,531 units (17.2% market share) decreased 10.9% in August compared to the same month in 2016.
Mercedes sales of 26,679 units (10.5% share) increased 7.5% from last year.
Audi sales of 19,406 units (7.6% share) increased 0.9% in August.
BMW sales of 18,713 units (7.4% share) increased 6.7% from last year.
Opel sales of 18,579 units (7.3% share) increased 13.0% from the same month last year.
Ford sales of 16,586 units (6.5% share) decreased 4.8% in August.
Sales of 25,335 trucks in August represented a decrease of 3.3% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 454 buses represented an decrease of 2.8%.
In August, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 58.4% market share, diesel vehicles had a 37.7% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 357,300 units had increased 13% and domestic production of 459,900 units had increased 12% from last August.

On August 2, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 283,080 new passenger car registrations in July, an 1.5% increase from the same month last year.
Year-to-date registrations of 2,070,106 vehicles in the first seven months of the year represented an increase of 2.9% from the same period in 2016.
Volkswagen brand sales of 49,468 units (17.5% market share) decreased 13.2% in July compared to the same month in 2016.
Mercedes sales of 30,046 units (10.6% share) increased 18.1% from last year.
Audi sales of 26,453 units (9.3% share) increased 0.3% in July.
BMW sales of 21,416 units (7.6% share) increased 7.3% from last year.
Ford sales of 20,119 units (7.1% share) decreased 5.7% from the same month last year.
Opel sales of 19,430 units (6.9% share) increased 2.6% in July.
Sales of 24,558 trucks in July represented a increase of 5.1% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 470 buses represented an decrease of 4.3%.
In July, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 56.0% market share, diesel vehicles had a 40.5% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 307,700 units had decreased 8% and domestic production of 371,700 units had decreased 9% from last July.

German car sales fall 3.5% in June
On June 4, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 327,693 new passenger car registrations in June, an 3.5% decrease from the same month last year.
Volkswagen brand sales of 60,555 units (18.5% market share) decreased 5.0% in June compared to the same month in 2016.
Mercedes sales of 31,394 units (9.6% share) decreased 1.2% from last year.
Audi sales of 25,153 units (7.7% share) decreased 9.4% in June.
Opel sales of 23,283 units (7.1% share) decreased 9.3% from last year.
BMW sales of 22,713 units (6.9% share) decreased 17.8% from the same month last year.
Ford sales of 22,398 units (6.8% share) increased 9.3% in June.
Sales of 27,691 trucks in June represented a decrease of 5.6% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 547 buses represented an decrease of 6.5%.
In June, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 55.8% market share, diesel vehicles had a 41.3% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 369,500 units had decreased 11% and domestic production of 493,300 units had decreased 12% from last June.

Volkswagen brand sales of 56,506 units (19.4% market share) decreased 12.5% in April compared to the same month in 2016.
Audi sales of 26,781 units (9.2% share) decreased 10.0% from last year.
Mercedes sales of 27,029 units (9.3% share) decreased 10.1% in April.
Opel sales of 19,350 units (6.7% share) decreased 14.2% from last year.
BMW brand sales of 20,114 units (6.9% share) decreased 14.0% from the same month last year.
Ford sales of 21,410 units (7.4% share) decreased 6.8% in April.
Sales of 23,047 trucks in April represented a decrease of 10.1% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 641 buses represented an increase of 3.2%.

On March 2, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 243,602 new passenger car registrations in February, a 2.6% decrease from the same month last year.
Volkswagen brand sales of 42,557 units (17.5% market share) dropped 18.6% in February compared to the same month in 2016.
Audi sales of 24,377 units (10.0% share) increased 4.2% from last year.
Mercedes sales of 21,765 units (8.9% share) decreased 2.1% in February.
Opel sales of 18,016 units (7.4% share) decreased 5.9% from last year.
BMW brand sales of 17,797 units (7.3% share) decreased 8.9% from the same month last year.
Ford sales of 17,934 units (7.4% share) increased 0.5% in February.
Sales of 20,613 trucks in February represented a decrease of 1.8% from the previous year’s results, while sales of 412 buses were basically flat from last year.
In February, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 53.7% market share, diesel vehicles had a 43.4% market share, and alternative fuel vehicles had a combined 2.9% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 380,700 units had decreased 5.0% and domestic production of 492,100 units had decreased 7.0% from last February.

German car sales rise 10.5% in January 2017
On February 2, the Germany Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) announced that there were 241,399 new passenger car registrations in January, a 10.5% increase from the same month last year.
Volkswagen brand sales of 49,535 units (20.5% market share) increased 5.1% in January compared to the same month in 2016.
Audi sales of 21,668 units (9.0% share) increased 0.3% from last year.
Mercedes sales of 24,372 units (10.1% share) increased 20.1% in January.
Opel sales of 17,287 units (7.2% share) increased 4.5% from last year.
BMW brand sales of 20,387 units (8.4% share) increased 18.8% from the same month last year.
Ford sales of 15,841 units (6.6% share) increased 6.0% in January.
Sales of 20,001 trucks in January represented an increase of 3.2% from the previous year’s results, while the sale of 520 buses was a 13.5% increase from last year.
In January, gasoline-powered vehicles accounted for a 52.2% market share, diesel vehicles had a 45.1% market share, and alternative fuel vehicles had a combined 2.7% market share.
The VDA announced that monthly passenger car exports of 346,500 units had increased 11.0% and domestic production of 462,900 units had increased 11.0% from last January.
