Indian passenger vehicle sales decrease by 41.2% in September, 2021
Indian passenger vehicle sales in September 2021 were down 41.2% y/y to 160,070 units.
Vehicle sales from July to September 2021 were up 5.6% y/y to 907,551 units.
PVs (passenger vehicle, UV and van) sales were up 2.1% to 741,300 units (excludes BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo Cars). CVs (M&HCVs and LCVs) sales were up 24.5% to 166,251 units (excludes Daimler and Scania).
Based on the release of carmakers in September PVs and CVs, the available results are as follows:
Maruti-Suzuki sales of 66,415 units decreased 55.7% in September compared to the same month in 2020.
Tata sales of 55,988 units increased 26.1% from last year.
Mahindra sales of 21,918 units decreased 34.4% from last year.
Hyundai sales of 33,087 units decreased 34.2% from last year.
Kia sales of 14,441 units decreased 22.7% from last year.
Toyota sales of 9,284 units increased 14.4% from the same month last year.
Honda sales of 6,765 units decreased 33.7% in September compared to the same month in 2020.

Indian passenger vehicle sales in August 2021 were up 7.6% y/y to 232,224 units. (excludes BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Cars and Tata).
Based on the release of carmakers in August PVs and CVs, the available results are as follows:
Maruti-Suzuki sales of 105,775 units decreased 8.3% in August compared to the same month in 2020.
Tata sales of 54,190 units increased 53.0% from last year.
Hyundai sales of 46,866 units increased 2.3% from last August.
Mahindra sales of 24,302 units decreased 15.5% from last year.
Kia sales of 16,750 units increased 54.3% from last year.
Toyota sales of 12,772 units increased 129.9% from the same month last year.

Indian passenger vehicle sales in June 2021 were up 119.3% y/y to 231,633 units.
Vehicle sales from April to June 2021 were up 305.7% y/y to 752,072 units.
PVs (passenger vehicle, UV and van) sales were up 320.4% to 646,272 units (excludes BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo Cars). CVs (M&HCVs and LCVs) sales were up 234.4% to 105,800 units (excludes Daimler and Scania).
Based on the release of carmakers in June PVs and CVs, the available results are as follows:
