SDV Application Development
From the exhibition and presentation coverage at the JSAE 2025 in Yokohama
Summary
The trend toward SDVs (software-defined vehicles) is steadily advancing, and development environments and tools for applications that link in-vehicle ECUs (HPC/domain ECUs) and the cloud, which is a prerequisite for connected cars, are being developed. Standardization activities for application/software APIs*, which are the source of added value, have begun, moving from a competitive area to a cooperative area. In addition, cybersecurity measures, one of the weak points of SDVs/connected cars, are being prepared not only to prevent direct threats, but also in combination with SBOM*, classification and legal frameworks are also being prepared.
API* (Application Programming Interface): A point of contact that serves as a bridge between software programs and web services
  SBOM*: Software Bill of Materials
