  The 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) was held at the China International Exhibition Center from April 25 to May 4. The exhibition attracted attention from renowned Chinese and non-Chinese automakers, suppliers, and technology exhibitors. The event covered a total area of 220,000 square meters, showcasing 117 world premiere models, 41 concept cars and 278 NEV models. A total of 892,000 people (including 28,000 from outside of China) visited the venue.

  This report focuses mainly on the new NEV (new energy vehicle) models of independent brands exhibited at the Auto China 2024 (Beijing Auto Show) by FAW Group Corporation (FAW), Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd, and Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC). The FAW Hongqi brand exhibited 22 models, including the Hongqi EHS7, Hongqi HQ9 PHEV, and Hongqi H9 (2024 version). Among them, new Hongqi Golden Sunflower brand, a sub-brand of FAW, was exhibited independently for the first time at the motor show, and it presented the "Guoya L1” full-size luxury sedan for the first time. The Dongfeng Group exhibited the Aeolus Fengshen L7, the ”eπ” from its new eπ (Yipai) EV brand, and the Nammi brand unveiled the Nammi 01 Co-creation Edition small battery electric vehicle (BEV). In addition, two new models from the new Dongfeng Forthing brand's new Forthing Xinghai NEV series were also unveiled. BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (BAIC BluePark) exhibited its flagship sedan, the “Xiangjie S9”, which was jointly developed with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei). Arcfox, a BAIC Group sub-brand, has begun pre-orders for the new αS5 (Alpha S5) high-performance BEV sedan and launched the Arcfox αS pre-production version PRO equipped with the Harmony OS (operating system). BAIC has accelerated the electrification of its off-road vehicles, starting with pre-order sales for the entire BJ30 series. The new "Magic Core" electric drive platform, a new technology for off-road SUVs, as well as the "BJ60" and the new "BJ40" Magic Core electric drive versions equipped with this platform were unveiled.
