The Aachen Colloquium, being organized by the Aachen Kolloquium Fahrzeug- und Motorentechnik GbR, was held in Aachen, Germany from October 10th to 12th, 2022.

The event brings together executives and experts from OEMs, suppliers, engineering providers, research institutes and universities to jointly discuss future-oriented developments for sustainable mobility covering the aspects of efficiency, safety and environmental friendliness.

The lectures covered a wide range of fields, such as powertrain technologies, digitalization, automation, complete vehicles, mobility concepts and vehicle dynamics.

Prof.Dr. Rüdiger, rector of the RWTH Aachen University, welcomed the more than 1,000 on-site participants and around 300 online attendees to the 31st Aachen Colloquium. He pointed out that it is important to find holistic answers toward the global megatrends, while paying special attention to sustainability.

Like last year, Professor Dr.-Ing. Stefan Pischinger, director of the Institute for Combustion Engines (VKA), and Professor Dr.-Ing. Lutz Eckstein, director of the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika), both at the RWTH Aachen University, were representing the two institutes which jointly organize the annual event.

In their opening speech, they picked up on the topic of the current energy supply change in Europe. They stressed that we can only overcome this challenge by exploiting all technological possibilities. The Aachen Colloquium offers a perfect stage to get insights in new technologies, exchange opinions and find a solution for future sustainable mobility together.

The two-day conference comprised a total of 104 technical lectures and keynotes, which were held parallel in 30 sessions and five halls of the Eurogress conference center.

The full agenda of lectures can be viewed in the official program booklet.

The proceedings are filling two books and can be ordered - also for previous colloquia - through the Aachen Colloquium homepage.

Next year the event will be held from October 9th to 11th, 2023. The Call-for-Papers will start on December 1st, 2022 and interested parties can submit their proposals by February 15th, 2023.
