2021/11/30

Summary

At the 4th Nagoya Automotive World Conference and Exhibition, Mr. Jack CHENG, CEO of the MIH Consortium, an EV development consortium sponsored by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (known as Foxconn Technology Group, or Foxconn), gave a recorded presentation on October 28, 2021, titled "Disruption and Transformation of EV Mobility”. It explained the concept and structure of the MIH Consortium. The Consortium will revolutionize the way vehicles are developed and manufactured, and also provides a way for manufacturers without automotive expertise to complete the development of EV (electric vehicle) platforms in a short period of time. At the same time, it is premised on a system for autonomous driving, and once the core technology is developed, each member can share the automated driving technology without placing a burden on development.

Event venue Foxconn
As the COVID-19 crisis was subsiding, the event site was booming with many visitors. Foxconn, the organizer of the MIH Consortium, showed three types of EVs (E-segment passenger car, SUV, and bus) at the Hon Hai Technology Day (HHTD21) on October 18, demonstrating the development potential of the shared platform.
