UAW to expand strike starting at noon on September 29 if negotiations show no progress

The Detroit News reported on September 27 that sources from the United Auto Workers (UAW) said that if there is no progress in the current round of labor-management negotiations, the strike will be expanded starting at noon on Friday, September 29. Prior to that, the UAW will announce the names of the facilities that will be the target of the new strike at 10:00 a.m. on the same day via the UAW's social networking service.
The UAW began an additional strike on September 22 at 38 GM and Stellantis parts distribution centers across the United States. This brings the number of union members off the job by about 5,600 to about 18,300.
