Spanish car sales increase 4.6% in September

On October 3, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 83,291 units in September 2017 represented an increase of 4.6% over September 2016.
Passenger car sales of 933,142 units in the first nine months of the year represented a 6.7% increase from the same period in 2016.
Renault sales increased 10.8% to 7,217 units, Peugeot sales increased 2.5% to 5,894 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 19.0% to 5,587 units, SEAT sales increased 10.2% to 5,412 units, and Opel sales increased 2.2% to 4,843 units in September 2017.
The best-selling cars in September, in order of popularity, were the Renault Megane, Nissan Qashqai, VW Golf, Citroen C4, and SEAT Leon.
Of all vehicles sold in September, gasoline vehicles had a 43.9% market share, diesel vehicles had a 50.1% share, and hybrid car (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) combined had a 6.0% share.
Private car sales in September increased 3.5% to 48,148 units, business sales increased 8.1% to 30,677 units, and fleet sales decreased 4.8% to 4,466 units.
