Statistics
While sales (factory shipments) rose month-on-month thanks to expanded subsidies and intensified promotional activities, domestic sales remained sluggish, falling by 24.2 per cent year-on-year. Meanwhile, exports rose by 65.3 per cent to 1.01 million units, exceeding the one-million-unit mark for the third consecutive month and underpinning overall sales.
China August production volume declines 4.7%
Output was down year-on-year as the domestic market remained sluggish. Meanwhile, production for export remained robust, with NEV exports expanding significantly to 1.3 times the previous year’s level. The increase in export demand helped to limit the decline in production.
Brazil August sales volume rises 22.1%
The market expanded due to a significant increase in sales by Chinese manufacturers. BYD performed well with the Dolphin Mini; Chery with the Tiggo 5X; Great Wall Motors, which saw sales growth centred on the H6; and Geely, whose mainstay is the EX2. In addition, GM also increased its sales volume thanks to higher sales of the Onix.
