Business Overview

-The Company is an automotive parts division of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. (GAIG).

-In line with Honda, Nissan, and Toyota's expansion projects in Guangzhou, the Company formed business alliances with a number of Japanese auto parts suppliers.

-The Company mainly manufactures seat systems, interior trims, air conditioner systems, body related electric parts, powertrain and chassis components.

-In February 2018, the name of the Company was officially changed to GAC Component Co., Ltd.

Aug. 2000 Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. (GAIG) integrated its 17 auto parts suppliers, establishing Guangzhou Automobile Group Component Co., Ltd.
June 2001 The Company and TS tech Co., Ltd. jointly established Guangzhou TS Automotive Interior Systems Co., Ltd.
Sep. 2002 Stanley Electric, Honda Motor China, and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Stanley Electric Co., Ltd.
March 2003 Denso Corporation and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Denso Co., Ltd.
April 2004 Hayashi Telempu and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Linjun Co., Ltd. 
July 2004 Bridgestone and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Bridgestone Chemical Products Co., Ltd.
Aug. 2004 Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Daiki Aluminu Industry Co., Ltd., and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Aluminum GAST Alloy CO., Ltd.
Sep. 2004 Toyota Boshoku Corporation and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Intex Auto Parts Co., Ltd.
Feb. 2005 Chuo Precision Industrial Co., Ltd. and the Company jointly established Central Motor Wheel of Guangzhou Co., Ltd. to manufacture aluminum wheels.

Sep. 2005 TS tech Co., Ltd., GSK Corporation of Taiwan, and the Company jointly established Guangzhou TSK Auto Parts Co., Ltd. to manufacture door trims. This new company was formed out of TS tech acquiring capital in Guangzhou Junxin Automobile Components Co., Ltd., a joint venture company created between the Company and GSK in 1999.
Dec. 2005 TS tech Co., Ltd. and the Company jointly established Guangzhou Tech Interior Trim Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to manufacture trim covers.
April 2006 Based on the restructuring plans of Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. (GAIG), the Company acquired a majority share in Guangzhou Showa Autoparts Co., Ltd., a shock absorber and power steering production company it originally created jointly with the Guangzhou Motor Group and Showa Corporation in 1994.
April 2006 As part of the restructuring plans of Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. (GAIG), the Company acquired a majority share in Guangzhou Mitsuba Electric Co., Ltd., a wiper system and window regulator supplier it established jointly with Guangzhou Motor Group and Mitsuba Corporation in 1999.
May 2006 Guangzhou Showa Autoparts Co., Ltd. established a Wuhan Branch to manufacture shock absorbers and power steering systems.
April 2008 Hayashi Telempu and Guangzhu Linjun Co., Ltd., which is a joint-venture company between the company and Hayashi Telempu, established Wuhan Linjun Auto Trim Co., Ltd. through joint investment. The new entity manufactures interior components.
Oct. 2008 The company and the GSK Group jointly established Guangzhou GAC-GSK Auto Interiors R&D Co.,Ltd. to produce interior products such as seats.
Nov. 2008 The Company and Johnson Controls jointly established Guangzhou GACC-Johnson Controls Automotive Interior Systems Co., Ltd. to produce interior components such as instrument panels and console boxes.
Feb. 2009 The Company and Ogihara Corporation jointly established Guangzhou GACC Ogihara Dies Co., Ltd. to produce body stamping products.
Jun. 2009 The Company completed the acquisition of one third of the shares in both Hangzhou Haveco Automotive Transmission Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Haveco Transmission Technology Co., Ltd.
Jan. 2010 The Company acquired 45% of shareholdings in GAC-QH (Meizhou) Auto Electric Co., Ltd to produce automotive generators and starters.
May 2011 Established  a joint venture Changsha Cosma Automotive
Nov. 2011 Established Wuhan Stanley Electric Co., Ltd. 
Jun. 2013 The Company will establish a new joint-venture called Heyuan Toyota Boshoku Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. with Toyota Boshoku (China) Co., Ltd.
Feb. 2014 Guangzhou Denso Co., Ltd, the joint venture of the Company and Denso (China) Investment Co., Ltd. held opening ceremony for its new plant in Zengcheng.
Jul. 2014 Hangzhou IVECO Automobile Transmission Technology Co.,Ltd., the subsidiary of the Company, announced that its first dual clutch automatic transmission rolled off production line.
Jan. 2016 The Company establish a joint venture with Woodbridge GSK High Polymer Technology Co. Ltd. (WGSK).
Feb. 2018 The name of the Company was officially changed to GAC Component Co.,Ltd.
Jun. 2018 The Company acquired a 4% share held by Adient Asia Holdings Co., Ltd. in Changsha Adient Auto Parts Co., Ltd. (Changsha Adient) and held a 52% share in Changsha Adient after the share transation was completed. Changsha Adient thereafter became a subsidiary of the Company.
Jun. 2018 The Company and Magna International established a new joint venture named "Changsha Magna Auto Exterior Co., Ltd." in Changsha.
Aug. 2019 The company and Nidec Corporation jointly established Guangzhou Nidec Automotive Drive System Co., Ltd.
Mar. 2021 Guangzhou Showa Auto Parts Co., Ltd. changed its name to Hitachi Astemo Chassis Systems (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd..
Jan. 2022 The company established a joint venture with Zhuzhou CRRC Times Semiconductor Co., Ltd.-Guangzhou Qinglan Semiconductor Co., Ltd..
Jul. 2022 Bridgestone Corporation withdrew from Guangzhou Bridgestone Chemical Products Co., Ltd., Archem, Inc. joined and changed the name of the subsidiary to Guangzhou Archem Auto Component Co., Ltd..
