Hyundai Transys
-The Company and Hyundai PowerTech Co., Ltd. officially launched their new joint venture, Hyundai Transys, as of January 2, 2019.The new joint venture will manufacture a full lineup of transmissions such as automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, dual clutch transmissions (DCTs) and continuously variable transmissions. It’s going to produce car seats for the Hyundai Genesis, Grandeur, and Sonata, as well. Also, it plans to expand its sales from about Korean won (KRW) 7 trillion in the business year ended in December 2018 to KRW 12 trillion by 2022. (From a press on January 3, 2019)
-The Company held a board of directors’ meeting on October 19, 2018, and resolved a plan to merge Hyundai PowerTech Co., Ltd. The plan is scheduled to receive an approval at the extraordinary general shareholders' meeting on November 29, 2018, to complete the merger by January 1, 2019. Hyundai Dymos is going to issue new shares and distribute them to Hyundai Powertech shareholders, who will then receive 0.5653558 shares in Hyundai Dymos for 1 share in Hyundai Powertech. After the merger, Hyundai Dymos will have a full lineup of transmissions such as automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, dual clutch transmissions (DCTs) and continuously variable transmissions. Also, it plans to expand the combined sales of Korean won (KRW) 7 trillion in 2017 to KRW 12 trillion by 2022. (From a press release on Friday, October 19, 2018)
Recent Developments
The Hyundai Wia Corporation is going to sell its manual transmission processing lines to Hyundai Dymos Inc. at Korean won (KRW) 17.53 billion. According to Hyundai Wia, “this will allow Hyundai Wia to make its automotive part business more efficient and strengthen its core business.” (From a press release on November 30, 2018)
