New Plant

-In 2014, the Company has announced plans for a new light vehicle aluminum wheel manufacturing facility in Limeira, Brazil. The new facility will join an existing steel wheel plant on the same site and create 800,000 wheels of new wheel capacity in year one, eventually growing to a capacity of 2 million annually. The facility will provide 500 new jobs with an anticipated start of production in the second half of 2015. The Company is also initiating an expansion of their current automotive aluminum wheel facility in Santo Andre. Acquired by Iochpe-Maxion

-In February 2012, the Company announced that Iochpe Holdings, LLC, a North American subsidiary of Brazil-based wheel and chassis manufacturer Iochpe-Maxion S.A., has finalized its transaction to acquire Hayes Lemmerz. The transaction combines the wheel businesses of Iochpe-Maxion and Hayes Lemmerz to create Maxion Wheels in Northville, Michigan, the U.S., a wheels business with manufacturing locations in 12 countries. -In January 2011, the Company announced that Hayes Lemmerz powder-coated, lightweight steel wheels will be standard on Wabash National Corporation trailers. Patents

-In May 2012, the Company announced that it has been assigned a patent (8,162,406) for a new type of clad (wheel cover). The new clad is made from a combination of plastic components, which allow for styling, and stainless steel, which gives a bright chrome appearance. Restructuring

-In January 2010, the Company announced that it will close its Barcelona, Spain cast aluminum manufacturing facility. The plant closing is part of the Company's ongoing plan to align its capacity with market conditions and eliminate costs. The plant, which employs approximately 140 people, manufactures aluminum wheels for automotive customers located in Spain. Investment Outside U.S.A.

<India>
-In 2010, the Company opened a new passenger car wheel plant in India. The company is a joint venture between Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. of U.S. and the Kalyani Group of India. Kalyani Hayes Lemmerz has booked 1.7 million of its 2 million wheel capacity to meet order from FIAT, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, VW India, VW USA, VW Mexico, VW China, Ford India and Renault Nissan India. -In September 2010, the Company announced that it will inaugurate a new passenger car steel wheel facility in November 2010. The facility, located in Pune, India, is the first Company's passenger car steel wheel facility in Asia. Initial annual capacity for the facility is 2 million wheels, to be expanded to 4 million wheels soon. The new facility will supply its wheels to Tata, Volkswagen, Renault, Ford and other customers.
