Factors
1) Net Sales
-The Company’s sales for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2015 increased by 21.5% to EUR 4,370.8 million. The increase in sales was driven by improved results in the Company’s Exhaust Technology division.

2) Exhaust Technology division
-The Company’s Exhaust Technology division had sales of EUR 3,845.3 million in the fiscal year ended December 31, 2015, an increase of 23.2% over the previous year. Increases in commercial vehicle business in Wilsdruff, Germany and Nykoping, Sweden improved sales in the division. In addition, increased demand of passenger vehicle exhaust systems in Europe and both passenger car and commercial vehicle exhaust systems in the U.S. further improved sales.

3) Climate Control Systems division
-Sales in the Company’s Climate Control Systems division amounted to EUR 472.4 million in the fiscal year ended December 31, 2015, an increase of 10.3% over the previous year. The Company had increased sales across its product lines in the division, with fuel operated heaters, electrical heaters, and air conditioning systems all showing gains.

4) Automotive Controls division
-In the fiscal year ended December 31, 2015, the Company’s Automotive Controls division’s sales totaled EUR 53.2 million, an increase of 7.9% over the previous year. The increase in sales was driven by increased unit sales for existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.

  • Lightweight constructions

Climate Control Systems division

  • Fuel operating heating systems and accessories
  • Hydronic series water heaters with electronics developed internally within the Company

Product Development

Air conditioning systems and components
-Eberspaecher Suetrak, a subsidiary of the Company, announced that it is presenting its air conditioning systems and components for electric and hybrid buses at the Busworld exhibition in Kortrijk, Belgium. Its highlights will include the AC 230 rooftop air-conditioning system with an innovative heat pump; the new, flexibly usable control unit for bus air-conditioning systems; the current all-electric version of the AC 136 G4 air-conditioning system for electric buses and the AC 403 E G2 for the driver's seat and passenger compartment air-conditioning in city buses. -The Company’s investments in property, plant, and equipment in the fiscal year ended December 31, 2015 were distributed through its three business divisions as follows:

  • 83.3% was invested in the Exhaust Technology division, primarily for the expansion of production capacities in various locations.
  • 14.0% was invested in the Climate Control Systems division for tools and product capacity adjustments of the Company’s next-generation Hydronic 3 water heater.
  • 2.7% was invested in the Automotive Controls division primarily to increase production capacity at the Company’s location in Landau, Germany.
