Spanish passenger car sales flat in December, decrease 32.3% for 2020
On January 4, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations in December 2020 were flat to 105,841 units over December 2019.
Full-year sales of 851,211 units in 2020 represent a 32.3% decrease over 2019.
In 2020, SEAT sales decreased 38.6% to 68,721 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 29.2% to 66,817 units, Peugeot decreased 32.9% to 65,697 units, Toyota decreased 19.7% to 57,580 units and Renault decreased 35.0% to 56,138 units.
The best-selling cars in 2020, in order of popularity, were the Dacia Sandero, SEAT Leon, Nissan Qashqai, Renault Clio and Toyota Corolla.
Of all vehicles sold in 2020, gasoline vehicles had a 49.8% market share, diesel vehicles had a 27.7% share and other vehicles had a 22.5% share.
Private car sales in 2020 decreased 27.1% to 427,378 units, business sales decreased 24.4% to 327,732 units and rental car sales decreased 59.7% to 96,101 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 18.7% in November
On December 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 75,708 units in November 2020 represented a decrease of 18.7% over November 2019.
Passenger car sales of 745,369 units in the first eleven months of the year represented a 35.3% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In November 2020, Peugeot sales decreased 11.6% to 6,068 units, SEAT sales decreased 29.4% to 6,044 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 22.8% to 5,324 units, Toyota sales decreased 25.6% to 4,903 units and Kia sales decreased 18.5% to 4,730 units.
The best-selling cars in November, in order of popularity, were the SEAT Leon, Dacia Sandero, Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai Kona and Peugeot 2008.
Of all vehicles sold in November, gasoline vehicles had a 43.6% market share, diesel vehicles had a 27.8% share and other vehicles had a 28.6% share.
Private car sales in November decreased 24.4% to 38,719 units, business sales decreased 7.6% to 32,797 units and rental car sales decreased 35.4% to 4,192 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 21.0% in October
On November 2, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 74,228 units in October 2020 represented a decrease of 21.0% over October 2019.
Passenger car sales of 669,662 units in the first ten months of the year represented a 36.8% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In October 2020, SEAT sales decreased 15.7% to 6,524 units, Peugeot sales decreased 21.0% to 6,073 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 29.3% to 5,475 units, Toyota sales decreased 16.8% to 4,838 units and Renault sales decreased 15.8% to 4,613 units.
The best-selling cars in October, in order of popularity, were the Dacia Sandero, SEAT Arona, SEAT Leon, Toyota Corolla and Peugeot 3008.
Of all vehicles sold in October, gasoline vehicles had a 45.5% market share, diesel vehicles had a 28.7% share and other vehicles had a 25.8% share.
Private car sales in October decreased 22.7% to 37,974 units, business sales decreased 15.5% to 33,370 units and rental car sales decreased 46.2% to 2,884 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 13.5% in September
On October 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 70,729 units in September 2020 represented a decrease of 13.5% over September 2019.
Passenger car sales of 595,435 units in the first nine months of the year represented a 38.3% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In September 2020, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 11.0% to 5,713 units, SEAT sales decreased 21.7% to 5,484 units, Peugeot sales decreased 20.6% to 4,865 units, Toyota sales decreased 5.7% to 4,742 units and Kia sales increased 9.7% to 4,527 units.
The best-selling cars in September, in order of popularity, were the SEAT Leon, Dacia Sandero, Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai Kona and Renault Megane.
Of all vehicles sold in September, gasoline vehicles had a 46.4% market share, diesel vehicles had a 29.1% share and other vehicles had a 24.6% share.
Private car sales in September decreased 10.6% to 36,555 units, business sales decreased 13.9% to 30,324 units and rental car sales decreased 31.7% to 3,850 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 10.1% in August
On September 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 66,925 units in August 2020 represented a decrease of 10.1% over August 2019.
Passenger car sales of 524,706 units in the first eight months of the year represented a 40.6% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In August 2020, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 2.5% to 5,388 units, Renault sales increased 11.0% to 4,731 units, Toyota sales increased 1.2% to 4,725 units, SEAT sales decreased 2.8% to 4,680 units and Kia sales increased 26.2% to 4,626 units.
The best-selling cars in August, in order of popularity, were the Dacia Sandero, SEAT Leon, Nissan Qashqai, VW Tiguan and Renault Clio.
Of all vehicles sold in August, gasoline vehicles had a 51.9% market share, diesel vehicles had a 27.5% share and other vehicles had a 20.7% share.
Private car sales in August decreased 9.5% to 37,664 units, business sales decreased 15.5% to 24,230 units and rental car sales increased 21.5% to 5,031 units.

Spanish passenger car sales up 1.1% in July
On August 3, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 117,929 units in July 2020 represented an increase of 1.1% over July 2019.
Passenger car sales of 457,782 units in the first seven months of the year represented a 43.4% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In July 2020, Volkswagen brand sales increased 19.2% to 9,608 units, Peugeot sales increased 10.5% to 9,144 units, SEAT sales decreased 25.3% to 8,872 units, Renault sales increased 28.8% to 8,708 units and Toyota sales increased 33.8% to 8,382 units.
The best-selling cars in July, in order of popularity, were the Renault Clio, Dacia Sandero, Peugeot 2008, SEAT Leon and Renault Megane.
Of all vehicles sold in July, gasoline vehicles had a 53.4% market share, diesel vehicles had a 26.3% share and other vehicles had a 20.3% share.
Private car sales in July increased 6.9% to 61,931 units, business sales decreased 0.2% to 40,364 units and rental car sales decreased 14.5% to 15,634 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 36.7% in June
On July 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 82,651 units in June 2020 represented a decrease of 36.7% over June 2019.
Passenger car sales of 339,853 units in the first half of the year represented a 50.9% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In June 2020, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 28.5% to 7,774 units, Peugeot sales decreased 34.8% to 6,697 units, SEAT sales decreased 49.5% to 6,390 units, Renault sales decreased 40.7% to 6,311 units and Toyota sales decreased 20.1% to 5,339 units.
The best-selling cars in June, in order of popularity, were the Renault Clio, SEAT Leon, Dacia Sandero, Renault Captur and Nissan Qashqai.
Of all vehicles sold in June, gasoline vehicles had a 52.5% market share, diesel vehicles had a 29.4% share and other vehicles had a 18.1% share.
Private car sales in June decreased 11.3% to 44,694 units, business sales decreased 28.2% to 28,114 units and rental car sales decreased 76.0% to 9,843 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 72.7% in May

On June 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 34,337 units in May 2020 represented a decrease of 72.7% over May 2019 due to coronavirus pandemic.
Passenger car sales of 257,202 units in the first five months of the year represented a 54.2% decrease from the same period in 2019.
In May 2020, Peugeot sales decreased 70.4% to 2,881 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 68.9% to 2,721 units, Renault sales decreased 72.2% to 2,459 units, SEAT sales decreased 79.3% to 2,409 units and Audi sales decreased 54.2% to 2,330 units.
The best-selling cars in May, in order of popularity, were the Dacia Sandero, Renault Clio, Audi A1, Fiat 500 and SEAT Leon.
Of all vehicles sold in May, gasoline vehicles had a 50.5% market share, diesel vehicles had a 31.2% share and other vehicles had a 18.3% share.
Private car sales in May decreased 66.0% to 18,528 units, business sales decreased 63.7% to 13,477 units and rental car sales decreased 93.2% to 2,332 units.

Spanish passenger car sales down 96.5% in April

On May 4, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 4,163 units in April 2020 represented a decrease of 96.5% over April 2019 due to coronavirus pandemic.
Passenger car sales of 222,866 units in the first four months of the year represented a 48.9% decrease from the same period in 2019.
Opel sales decreased 82.7% to 1,052 units, Citroen sales decreased 86.5% to 871 units, Peugeot sales decreased 96.3% to 354 units, Toyota sales decreased 94.6% to 339 units and Ford sales decreased 95.8% to 248 units in April 2020.
The best-selling cars in April, in order of popularity, were the Opel Crossland X, Opel Corsa, Citroen C3, Citroen C4 and Citroen C3 Aircross.
Of all vehicles sold in April, gasoline vehicles had a 59.7% market share, diesel vehicles had a 29.1% share and other vehicles had a 11.2% share.

Spanish passenger car sales down 69.3% in March
On April 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 37,644 units in March 2020 represented a decrease of 69.3% over March 2019 due to coronavirus.
Passenger car sales of 218,705 units in the first three months of the year represented a 31.0% decrease from the same period in 2019.
SEAT sales decreased 45.5% to 4,917 units, Toyota sales decreased 48.3% to 3,152 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 67.6% to 2,790 units, Renault sales decreased 73.0% to 2,761 units, and Hyundai sales decreased 46.8% to 2,467 units in March 2020.
The best-selling cars in March, in order of popularity, were the SEAT Leon, Nissan Qashqai, SEAT Arona, Toyota Corolla and SEAT Ibiza.
Of all vehicles sold in March, gasoline vehicles had a 55.2% market share, diesel vehicles had a 24.8% share and other vehicles had a 20.0% share.

Spanish passenger car sales down 6.0% in February
On March 2, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 94,620 units in February 2020 represented an decrease of 6.0% over February 2019.
Passenger car sales of 181,063 units in the first two months of the year represented a 6.8% decrease from the same period in 2019.
SEAT sales increased 1.7% to 8,556 units, Peugeot sales decreased 9.2% to 7,812 units, Volkswagen brand sales increased 2.7% to 6,880 units, Renault sales decreased 10.7% to 6,290 units, and Toyota sales increased 21.7% to 6,083 units in February 2020.
The best-selling cars in February, in order of popularity, were the Nissan Qasqai, SEAT Leon, Opel Corsa, SEAT Ateca and Fiat Tipo.
Of all vehicles sold in February, gasoline vehicles had a 55.6% market share, diesel vehicles had a 28.0% share, and other vehicles had a 16.5% share.

Spanish passenger car sales decrease 7.6% in January
On February 3, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 86,443 units in January 2020 represented a decrease of 7.6% over January 2019.
SEAT sales decreased 9.9% to 8,187 units, Peugeot sales decreased 8.8% to 6,874 units, Volkswagen brand sales decreased 7.0% to 6,706 units, Toyota sales increased 5.8% to 6,426 units and Renault sales decreased 7.8% to 5,044 units compared to January 2019.
The best-selling cars in January 2020, in order of popularity, were the Dacia Sandero, SEAT Leon, Nissan Qasqai, SEAT Ateca and Peugeot 208.
Of all vehicles sold in January, gasoline vehicles had a 53.9% market share, diesel vehicles had a 27.7% share, and other vehicles had a 18.4% share.
Private car sales in January decreased 14.2% to 40,551 units, business sales increased 4.5% to 32,785 units and rental car sales decreased 12.2% to 13,107 units.
