Malaysian new car sales decrease by 7.3%, and production decreases by 14.2% in June
Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) announced that new car sales of 58,046 units in June decreased by 7.3% over the same month in 2023.
PV (passenger vehicles) sales were down 5.8% to 52,487 units. CV (commercial vehicles) sales were down 19.5% to 5,559 units.
New car sales for the first six months of 2024 increased 6.6% from the same period in 2023 to 390,296 units.
The number of Malaysian car production for June decreases 14.2% over the previous year to 49,811 units.
New car production for the first six months of 2024 increased 8.1% from the same period in 2023 to 392,052 units.

Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) announced that new car sales of 68,665 units in May increased by 8.7% over the same month in 2023.
PV (passenger vehicles) sales were up 11.4% to 62,862 units. CV (commercial vehicles) sales were down 13.5% to 5,803 units.
New car sales for the first five months of 2024 increased 8.3% from the same period in 2023 to 328,901 units.
The number of Malaysian car production for May increases 14.2% over the previous year to 74,174 units.
New car production for the first five months of 2024 increased 12.2% from the same period in 2023 to 341,500 units.

PV (passenger vehicles) sales were up 25.0% to 53,253 units. CV (commercial vehicles) sales were down 9.1% to 4,738 units.
New car sales for the first four months of 2024 increased 8.2% from the same period in 2023 to 260,236 units.
The number of Malaysian car production for April increases 38.2% over the previous year to 56,895 units.
New car production for the first four months of 2024 increased 11.6% from the same period in 2023 to 267,326 units.

Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) announced that new car sales of 71,052 units in March decreased by 9.9% over the same month in 2023 but a 13.1% increase from the previous month.
PV (passenger vehicles) sales were down 8.7% to 64,760 units. CV (commercial vehicles) sales were down 20.8% to 6,292 units.
MAA had expected at the end of March, sales in March to surpass those in February, driven by the end of year sales season and promotional campaigns during the Hari Raya festive season.
New car sales for the first three months of 2024 increased 5.0% from the same period in 2023 to 202,245 units.
The number of Malaysian car production for March decreases 12.0% over the previous year to 66,923 units.
New car production for the first three months of 2024 increased 6.1% from the same period in 2023 to 210,431 units.

Malaysian new car sales decrease by 1.1%, and production increases by 2.8% in February
On March 18, Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) announced that new car sales of 62,833 units in February decreased by 1.1% over the same month in 2023.
PV (passenger vehicles) sales were up 2.7% to 57,979 units. CV (commercial vehicles) sales were down 31.9% to 4,854 units.
New car sales for the first two months of 2024 increased 12.8% from the same period in 2023 to 128,332 units.
The number of Malaysian car production for February increases 2.8% over the previous year to 65,611 units.
New car production for the first two months of 2024 increased 15.8% from the same period in 2023 to 141,688 units.
Sales in March 2024 is expected to be higher than February 2024 due to companies rushing to fulfill for deliveries before their financial year ending on 31 March 2024, as well as promotional campaigns for the Hari Raya festive season.

Malaysian new car sales increase by 30.6%, and production increases by 30.0% in January
Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) announced that new car sales of 65,499 units in January increased by 30.6% over the same month in 2023.
PV (passenger vehicles) sales were up 33.2% to 59,394 units. CV (commercial vehicles) sales were up 9.4% to 6,105 units.
The number of Malaysian car production for January increases 30.0% over the previous year to 76,077 units.
As of the end of January, Malaysia's new motor vehicle sales are expected to decline by 7.5% to 740,000 units in 2024, said the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), following record sales of 799,731 units in 2023.
For 2024, MAA's weaker forecast is due to several factors, including global economic uncertainty due to conflicts and geopolitical tensions, and a slight slowdown in global economic growth forecasted by the International Monetary Fund to 2.9% in 2024 from 3% in 2023.
