Summary

 Hyundai-Kia Group (Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation) released eleven new models (newly introduced models and fully redesigned models) in 18 months following the fall of 2009 (including Kia Rio slated for launch in the fall of 2011). Their market share grew to 7.7% in 2010 in the U.S. (from 7.0% in 2009), to 4.8% in Europe (from 4.5%) and to 7.2% (from 6.9%) worldwide.

 Reported below is an overview of the availabilities of engines, transmissions and major equipment on the eleven new models from Hyundai/Kia.

 A compact hatchback in five- as well as three-door configuration. Designed by European design division. Released for sale in January 2011 in Korea and in April in Europe.
B Hyundai ix20  Compact MPV and a sister model to Kia Venga. Designed and developed by European R&D center located in Germany. Released for sale in Europe in November 2010.
New Accent
(aka Verna)
 Available in two types (four-door sedan and five-door hatchback). Released for sale in China in August 2010, in Korea in November of the same year, and in North America in January 2011. Launched in Russia in September 2010 under the model name of Solaris.
Kia Kia New Rio
(aka Pride)
 Shares platform with Hyundai Accent. Five-door hatchback planned for launch in Europe in the fall of 2011 and three-door hatchback in early 2012, and four-door sedan in the United States in the fall of 2011 and five-door hatchback in early 2012.
C Hyundai New Elantra
(Korean name: Avante)
 Compact sedan, released for sale in Korea in August 2010 and in the U.S. in November of the same year. Vehicles for U.S. are produced by the Alabama plant.
Veloster  A new model representing a fusion between hatchback and coupe. First model to debut under the new brand slogan of "New Thinking, New Possibilities." Released in Korea in March 2011 and to be released in Europe in the first half of the year and in the U.S. in the second half of the year.
Kia New Sportage  Small crossover SUV and a sister model to Hyundai Tucson. Released in Korea in March, Europe in July, U.S. in August, and China in October 2010.
D Hyundai New Grandeur
(aka Azera)
 Mid-sized luxury sedan. Released in Korea in January 2011 and to be released globally in 2012.
New Sonata  Mid-sized sedan. Released in Korea in September 2009, in U.S. in early 2010 and China in early 2011. A European version, i40, developed on the basis of the new Sonata's platform, will be released in the summer of 2011.
Kia New Optima
(Korean name: K5)
 A sister model to Hyundai Sonata. Released in Korea in April 2010, in U.S. toward the end of 2010, and Europe in 2011.
Cadenza
(Korean name: K7)
 A luxury sedan and a brand-new D2 segment model. Successor to Opirus/Amanti. Released in Korea in November 2009, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Asia in March 2010, and China in June.
