Level 4 autonomous driving (hereinafter referred to as L4) is necessary to address the urgent issue of driver shortages in Japan. Many companies and local governments are aiming to achieve the government's target (see Note) of providing unmanned autonomous transportation services at more than 100 locations in fiscal 2027 as a milestone. With the synchronized development of technology, the environment, laws and regulations, it is becoming possible for such services to be implemented in society relatively soon.

  This report summarizes topics related to autonomous driving from the ReVision Commercial Vehicle & Logistics Summit 2025 (hosted by InBridges Co., Ltd.), where representatives from various fields gathered to give lectures and hold discussions.

ReVision Mobility Summit / Commercial Vehicle & Logistics Summit Overview

  Two events organized by ReVision Auto&Mobility (managed by InBridges Co., Ltd.) were held on March 5 and 6, 2025, at the Belle Salle Kudan in Tokyo. Representatives of related companies and government agencies interacted through presentations and panel discussions, and approximately 110 people participated on both days, both in person and online.

ReVision Mobility Summit

  By mutually introducing and exchanging various mobility-related initiatives and implementation cases, the necessary considerations on mobility and urban development, such as value assessment and business models, can be conducted.

ReVision Commercial Vehicle & Logistics Summit

  Focusing mainly on issues related to the movement of people and logistics, the symposium introduced cutting-edge trends in the industry and usage examples of the latest technology, and presented the future direction of the evolution of commercial vehicles and logistics.

  From each presentation, content related to autonomous driving of commercial vehicles will be selected and summarized in the sections following in this report. The presentation by the Kawasaki City representative was given at the Mobility Summit, and the other companies' presentations were given at the Commercial Vehicle & Logistics Summit.
