  According to an announcement by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), sales of Chinese commercial vehicles in 2023 increased by 22.1% year-over-year (y/y) to 4,031,000 units. Of this total, domestic sales in China were 3,261,000 units (up 20% y/y) and exports were 770,000 units (up 32.2% y/y). Trucks numbered 3,539,000 (up 22.4% over the previous year) and buses 492,000 (up 20.6%).

  The 2024 China Commercial Vehicle Forum, organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, was held March 26-28 in Shiyan, Hubei Province. It consisted of one closed-door summit, one opening conference, and thematic forums in six areas, covering various commercial vehicle topics.

  This report briefly summarizes presentations by representatives of Beiqi Foton and FAW Jiefang at the congress forum and thematic forum held on March 27-28, covering such topics as development trends in the Chinese domestic and international commercial vehicle markets, analysis of the medium- and heavy-duty truck markets, and business opportunities.
