  The International Motor Show (IAA) 2017 was held in Frankfurt, Germany from September 12 through September 24, 2017, with the show opening to the public starting September 16. The IAA 2017 hosted approximately 810,000 attendees across its duration and featured 994 exhibitors and more than 50 passenger car brands. In addition, the IAA 2017 showcased a record 363 innovations, highlighting its theme of “Future Now”.

  Asian brands showcased a variety of models at the IAA 2017. Reflecting increased demand for SUVs and crossovers in Europe, Asian automakers displayed a number of those models, including the Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus NX, Hyundai Kona, Kia Stonic, Chery Tiggo Coupe Concept, and Ssangyong Rexton. The trend toward electric vehicles was another point of emphasis for Asian brands at the IAA 2017. Notably, Honda announced that every new European Honda model would have an electric option and displayed the Urban EV Concept and the CR-V Hybrid Prototype. Other electric models shown include the Toyota C-HR Hy-Power Concept, Chery EXEED TX Concept, and WEY XEV. Finally, models that emphasized driving performance were highlighted, such as the Hyundai i30 N, Kia Proceed Concept, Suzuki Swift Sport, and Subaru Impreza.

  This report is the fourth report which focuses on the vehicles displayed at the IAA 2017. This report will focus on models showcased by Asian OEMs, including Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Chery, WEY, Suzuki, Ssangyong, and Subaru.
