Summary
This second report on the IAA Frankfurt Auto Show 2015 focuses on PSA, Renault, FCA and Jaguar from Europe, and General Motors Company (exhibiting Opel cars) and Ford Motor Company from the United States. Exhibits by Japanese and Korean OEMs will be reported in the third report.
PSA Peugeot Citroen (PSA) premiered Peugeot, Citroen and DS branded models. They included the Peugeot Fractal EV roadster concept, the Citroen Cactus M concept designed for marine sports use, and the DS4 Crossback, an all-new crossover model.
Renault displayed the C-segment Megane hatchback and the D-segment Talisman Estate wagon that are built on the Common Module Family (CMF)'s C and D modular platforms which are developed jointly by Renault and Nissan.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) unveiled the Alfa Romeo Giulia, a four-door sports sedan, and the F-Pace, the first crossover Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) under the Jaguar brand.
General Motors (GM) unveiled the all-new Astra Sports Tourer that is up to 200kg lighter than the current model, under the Opel brand. Ford Motor intends to strengthen its SUV sales in Europe. Ford is launching a midsized SUV, the Edge, with the goal to nearly triple its SUV sales in Europe from the 2013 level to 200,000 units in 2016.
