Reported below is feature availability on new models released for sale in Japan by Japanese OEMs from September 2013 to June 2014. 17 new and fully redesigned models including six mini vehicles are reported: four each under the Honda and Nissan brand, three under Toyota, two under Daihatsu, and one each under Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Suzuki. Equipment that has been increasingly used includes the start-stop system which shuts down the engine before the vehicle stops, backup collision intervention systems, collision mitigation brakes, LED headlamps, and the cold storage evaporators which limit the increase in cabin temperature during an idle stop.
