Analysis of China's passenger car sales in February and outlook for March
The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) announced the production and sales volumes of passenger cars (including sedans, SUVs, MPVs but not minivans) for February 2021.
Retail
February retail sales of passenger cars totaled 1.177 million units, reflecting an increase of 371.9% compared to February 2020, the worst-hit month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
New energy vehicles (NEV)
In February, wholesale volumes of NEV passenger cars were 100,000 units, up by 640.2% y/y.
