Ford again idles multiple North American plants amid semiconductor shortages
On June 30, Ford Motor Co. announced plant closures due to the global shortage of semiconductor supplies:
• Chicago Assembly Plant, which builds Ford Explorer, Police Interceptor and Lincoln Aviator, will be down the weeks of July 5, 12, 19 and 26 and will run two shifts the week of August 2.
