French car sales rise 10.9% in July

On August 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that July new car sales in France of 147,519 units had increased 10.9% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first seven months of 2017 increased 3.8% from the same period in 2016 to 1,282,786 units.
July domestic brand sales of 76,228 units had increased 12.7% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 51.7%.
PSA Group sales of 43,845 units increased 12.7% (29.7% share) while Renault Group sales of 32,373 units increased 13.1% (21.9% share).
Foreign brand sales in July of 71,291 units increased 9.1% (48.3% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 20,291 units increased 12.8% (13.8% share), while Toyota Group sales of 6,999 units increased 22.6% (4.7% share).
FCA Group sales of 6,703 units increased 14.2% (4.5% share).
BMW Group sales of 6,117 units decreased 8.1% (4.1% share), while Daimler Group sales of 5,508 units increased 4.0% (3.7% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 13.7% in July to 32,314 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in July of 3,967 units increased 2.0% from the same month a year ago.
