Supply chain: Daihatsu Tanto details
Daihatsu's kei car tall wagon, the "Tanto," was launched in July 2019 and was developed using the DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture). It is equipped with a 660cc inline-3 naturally aspirated or turbocharged engine and is produced at the Shiga Plant. The "Tanto" sources many of its functional components from suppliers within the Toyota Group. Denso supplies the engine ECU and alternator/generator; Aisin supplies the side door locks; JTEKT supplies the steering system; and Tokai Rika supplies the switches. In addition, global mega-suppliers such as BorgWarner (timing belt/chain) and Bosch (ABS/ESC) also supply components.
