MarkLines conducted an interview with CTO of 5GAA at MWC 2026 to gain insights into the latest developments shaping the future of connected mobility.

Supply chain: Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius, the world's first mass-produced hybrid vehicle, launched its fifth generation in January 2023 (with the plug-in hybrid version launched in March).

The drive battery is supplied by Prime Planet Energy & Solutions (PPES). It is equipped with a fifth-generation hybrid system featuring an Aisin transmission and a Denso inverter. All models come standard with the latest Toyota Safety Sense. Most major components are supplied by members of the KYOHOKAI, the Toyota Supplier Association, including the A/C compressor from Toyota Industries, the fuel pump from Aisan Industry, the seats from Toyota Boshoku, and the HVAC system from Denso. Among overseas suppliers, the blind spot monitor sensors are sourced from Aumovio, seat belts from Autoliv, and interior mirrors from Gentex and Magna.
