Supply chain: Tesla Model Y (China)

The China-produced Tesla Model Y is manufactured at the Shanghai Gigafactory.

While the majority of purchased parts are sourced from local manufacturers, a high proportion of these come from foreign-owned suppliers. The drive battery cells are sourced from both CATL and LG. For U.S.-produced models, the suppliers are CATL and Panasonic. For lamps, Hella supplies the head lamps, while the Chinese company Xingyu supplies the rear lamps. For U.S.-produced models, Hella and Marelli are the suppliers. Seats are supplied by Faurecia (Shanghai and the Chinese company Yanfeng. For U.S.-produced models, Adient is the supplier. This demonstrates that suppliers vary depending on the country of vehicle production.
