Headquarters Relocation

-The Company moved its headquarters from Busan Metropolitan City to its Gimhae plant in Gyeongsangnam-do on March 20, 2012. (From a press release on March 20, 2012)

Contracts

-The Company has been awarded a contract to supply solenoid valves for the gear actuators of 5-speed dual clutch transmissions (DCTs) to Chongqing Tsingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. Reliability testing for the DCTs will be performed at Changan Automobile by August 2014, and mass production of the DCTs is scheduled to begin at Chongqing Tsingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. in November the same year. The solenoid valve program, which covers the period through December 2017, is expected to add KRW 7,650 million to Unick’s sales. (From a press release on June 30, 2014)

-In July 2013, the Company was awarded a contract to supply solenoid valves for 5-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) actuators to Chongqing Tsingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. The agreement covering the period from June 2013 through December 2017 is expected to add 76.50 million won to the company's sales. Chongqing Tsingshan Industrial is a transmission supplier affiliated to Changan Automobile. (From a press release, July 1, 2013)

-In March 2013, the Company was awarded a contract from Korea Powertrain Co., Ltd. to supply solenoid valves for 7-speed dual clutch transmissions (DCTs), starting in May 2014. These DCTs will be installed on vehicles built by Hyundai and Kia Motors. (From a press release, March 8, 2013)

-In April 2012, the Company was awarded a contract from Stackpole to supply oil-pump control values starting from July 2013 for six years. The value of contract is forecast to be 14.5 billion won. These oil-pump control valves are scheduled to be equipped on engines mounted on the Beijing Hyundai Lambda and the GM Shanghai SGE. (From an April 18, 2012 press release)

-The Company was awarded a contract from Hyundai Powertech to supply solenoid valves for 8-speed automatic transmissions. The automatic transmissions will be installed in the Hyundai Equus, the Hyundai Genesis, the Kia Opirus, the Kia Mohave and other vehicles. The agreement, which is for a period of ten years, is expected to generate approximately 73,910 million won in sales. Hyundai Powertech, a member of the Hyundai Motor Group, specializes in manufacturing automatic transmissions. (From a press release on September 22, 2009)

-The Company will supply VFS hydraulic solenoid valves for six-speed automatic transmission systems to be installed in models made by Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors. Mass production of the vehicles will begin in 2009. The Company expects to generate sales of 9.0 billion won in 2009, and 49.5 billion won in 2012 from these contracts. -The Company has concluded a supply agreement with Hyundai Motor, under which it will develop and supply hydraulic solenoid valve for automatic transmission vehicles made by Hyundai. R&D Structure

-In 1987, the Company established a technical center within the premises of its Gimhae Plant.
-As of December 31, 2014, a total of 75 engineers engage in R&D activities at the technical center.

R&D Activities
-The Company is now working on development of solenoid valves for 10-speed automatic transmissions.

-The Company has been developing high-performance hydraulic control systems for dual clutch transmissions since August 2012. The project was originally planned to take 60 months through July 2017. The development period, however, has been shortened to 48 months and will end in July 2016. Meanwhile, the budget for the project will be reduced to KRW 5,366 million from the originally projected KRW 6,400 million. The development project was selected as one of the World Class 300 Projects sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy, and 50 percent of the total development cost will be provided by the government. -In August 2012, the Company announced that it will develop a high-performance hydraulic control system for dual-clutch transmissions. The company is going to invest 64 million won in the project, which will start in August 2012 and is scheduled to be completed by July 2017. As it was chosen by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy for the "World-class 300 Project", 50 percent of the development cost will be funded by the government. -In April 2012, the Company was selected by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge and Economy as one of the companies for the World Class 300 Project. This Project, which will run until 2020, recognizes leading companies in the world that have potential for extraordinary future growth. The Project also heavily concentrates in investing in these companies. Going forward, 12 organizations such as KOTRA, the Export-Import Bank of Korea、Korea Technology Credit Guarantee Fund、the Small & Medium Business Corporation、and KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) will give support for five years in the areas of R&D, HR and market development, financial aid, and consulting. -In April 2012, the Company developed oil pump control valves (OPCVs).

-In March 2010, the Company was awarded a patent for its automatic time correction system used in clocks installed in cars. The company plans to export clocks incorporating this new patented technology to Chrysler. (From a press release on March 11, 2010)

Investment in Korea

-In May 2012, the Company announced that it will establish a new production facility in Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea, investing 19,200 million won in total between May 2012 and December 2014.
