China‘s first hydrogen-fueled engine for commercial vehicles
-The Company officially unveiled China's first hydrogen-fueled engine for commercial vehicles, the YCK05, at the Beijing University of Technology. The YCK05 hydrogen-burning engine adopts a number of technologies such as high-pressure multi-point fuel injection technology, high-efficiency low-inertia turbocharging technology, and high-efficiency lean combustion technology. In addition, the Company has comprehensively optimized and upgraded the entire engine structure, combustion and valve subsystems, overcoming the technical problems of hydrogen-burning engines such as risk of back-fire and engine knock. Yuchai eCVT hybrid powertrain
-The Yuchai eCVT hybrid powertrain adopts a highly integrated layout, which can precisely control the engine to run continuously in the optimal operating region through the power shunting effect of the planetary row structure. With a fuel saving rate of up to 60%, the system is said to be the most cost-effective hybrid power system solution for commercial vehicles in operation. The system is also equipped with various operating modes, such as pure electric drive, CVT, over-speed gear operation, driving charge, PTO power output, limping, etc. It is suitable for buses and coaches, highway buses, logistics trucks, special vehicles and other vehicles, and is applicable to various complex working conditions. Relying on this product, Yuchai will help Dongfeng Huashen to build the "Hybrid eCVT Reefer Solution" in October 2021. 222 new domestic energy buses equipped with Yuchai Xin-Lan range extenders have been introduced in Macau. So far, Yuchai Xin-Lan has delivered a total of more than 600 range extenders to Macau. By using this product, the buses can reduce fuel consumption by up to 50% and carbon dioxide emissions by 50% per year compared to conventional buses. The product is currently being used by major bus companies such as Yutong Bus, Higer Bus, Zhongtong Bus, and Golden Dragon. (From a press release dated on May 9, 2022)
-According to multiple media reports in March 2022, Yuchai YC6GN natural gas engines will be installed in 800 Ankai Automobile‘s buses and begin operating in Monterrey, Mexico. This order is the Company's largest for Mexico. (From various media)
-In January 2021, the Yuchai Y24+65KW range extender was installed in a 7.5-meter bus of Yinlong New Energy and delivered to a customer in Macau. The installed range extender is highly integrated, fuel efficient, reliable, and adaptable to meet the entire vehicle's power requirements and electrical energy demand under all conditions. The range extender is activated when the power consumption reaches a certain amount and provides a single power supply to the battery. The system's improved ability to handle congested roads, as well as narrow and uneven roads, will help improve the operational efficiency of urban transportation. Strategic cooperation
-The Group announced that it had signed a strategic-partnership agreement with Guangxi Sunlong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to jointly develop products for New Energy Vehicles. Both companies will mutually cooperate based on their respective strengths to jointly develop New Energy Vehicle products and jointly explore markets outside China (especially the Southeast Asian market), focusing on four new energy power systems: Yuchai’s engine power trains with integrated power generation, eCVT output distribution type hybrid power trains, integrated electric drive assemblies, and fuel cells.
