Reported on April 26, 2024, Geely Auto vice-president and Geely New Energy Powertrain R&D Centre president revealed that there are potential opportunities for the company to work with Malaysia on the methanol-powered vehicle development project, following the development in after China and the European market. Geely recognized the efforts of Malaysia to ramp up production of green and sustainable fuel.

Geely Holding Group is the largest developer and producer of methanol vehicles in the world. It currently holds a 49.9% stake in Malaysian car company Proton Holdings Bhd and is pursuing opportunities to produce more models to support the government's green ecosystem initiatives.

On April 29, Lynk & Co, a Chinese EV manufacturer, signed cooperation agreements with various nations solidifying its globalization strategy at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2024 in China. The countries involved in the agreements include the UAE, Lebanon, Tunisia, Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, to solidify its global expansion and enter emerging markets in North Africa and Latin America.

In the MENA, Lynk & Co, formed a partnership with The Elite Cars in the UAE, a prominent player in the country's automotive industry. In Lebanon, Lynk & Co teamed up with GAA Lebanon, its representative in the region, and for the North African market, it collaborated with Universal Motors in Tunisia.

For the Latin American region, the company partnered with Tattersall Group in Chile, and GBH for both the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica regions. Lynk & Co has planned to expand its lineup of vehicles for the Latin American market, which is also the company’s next frontier region for growth and a key focus for development.

On April 25, at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Galaxy, a Geely sub-brand, made the global debut of the prototype for the new Galaxy Starship technological flagship SUV.

Inheriting the original “light ripple” design concept, the Galaxy Starship contains a unique interior where natural landscape is incorporated into the cockpit. It is also equipped with falcon-wing doors.

The Galaxy Starship encompasses the latest Galaxy technologies such as the next-generation NordThor hybrid powertrain, an 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive, an AI-powered panoramic sound audio system, AI-powered seats, an AI-powered digital assistant, and an AI-powered digital chassis, innovatively integrating intelligent driving, big data, AI, and cloud computing.
