On May 2, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation launched FUSO’s all-electric light-duty eCanter in Turkey, collaborating with local partner, TEMSA. The launch ceremony was held in TEMSA’s production facility in Adana, Turkey.

The vehicle will be manufactured in Mitsubishi Fuso’s Tramagal plant in Portugal and imported as BU (built-up) trucks in Turkey. The vehicle will be offered in 5 different models in the 6, 7.5, and 8.5-ton segments and will be available for sale as of May 1, 2024.

The vehicle will be available in different battery options, either two pieces (82kWh) or three pieces (124kWh), providing a driving range of up to 200 km. The 82kWh battery variant includes a fast-charging capability, charging the vehicle in just 72 minutes. The vehicle also offers a digital display, multimedia screen, heated driver's seat, enhanced cabin insulation, and several safety features.

On April 29, Iveco Bus announced that it will showcase three vehicles i.e., Crossway, Evadys, and E-Way, highlighting sustainable mobility and technological excellence at the Busworld Türkiye 2024 from May 29 to 31, 2024, in Istanbul. 

Crossway, newly introduced to Turkey, exemplifies Iveco Bus's commitment to sustainable solutions. Evadys is tailored for interurban/ touristic/ excursion missions, offering flexibility and efficiency. E-WAY represents the brand's dedication to electric urban transport.

The display will also feature expert services, including Energy Mobility Solutions, dedicated to supporting customers in transitioning to zero-emission fleets, and IVECO ON digital services for energy optimization and fleet management.

The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) announced that vehicle sales of 114,210 units in March 2024 represented a 4.2% increase over March 2023.

According to the data from Automotive Distributors Association (ODD), Fiat sales were 14,699 units in March (13.4% market share), Renault sales were 13,155 units (12.0% share), Ford sales were 8,324 units (7.6% share), Peugeot sales were 6,830 units (6.2% share) and Citroen sales were 6,785 units (6.2% share).

Sales of passenger vehicles under 1,600cc increased 1.8% YoY to 68,245 units (78.4% share).

Gasoline-engine vehicles increased 12.7% to 58,566 units (67.3% share), Diesel-engine vehicles decreased 38.7% to 9,428 units (10.8% share), Hybrid vehicles including PHEV and MHEV increased 26.7% to 11,436 units (13.1% share), EVs including range extender EV increased 209.3% to 6,784 units (7.8% share).

Turkey's production of 136,611 units in March was down 4.3% YoY.

Vehicle imports were up 22.9% to 78,291 units while vehicle exports were down 3.9% to 91,985 units in March.
