Business Overview
-The Company is a diversified global manufacturer and one of the world’s leading suppliers to the automotive industry. Its product portfolio is powertrain-agnostic and includes a range of components, systems and modules. The Company also supplies products and systems to a variety of non-automotive industries, including aerospace, logistics, and health and medical industries.
-The Company’s operations are organized into five business segments:
Wiring Harness | The segment manufactures wiring harnesses and electrical components to ensure the delivery of power and data within various vehicles. The segment is a full service system supplier with complete in-house design, development, and manufacturing capabilities. |
Vision Systems | The segment develops and manufactures rearview vision systems for the automotive industry, primarily comprised of interior mirrors, exterior mirrors, and camera-based detection systems. The segment also supplies components for sub-assemblies integrated into vision systems such as light units, electric drives, camera modules, electronic modules, and reflector glass modules. |
Modules & Polymer Products | The segment manufactures a wide range of components and systems, from simple plastics and mechanical assemblies to integrated modules for both interior and exterior vehicle applications. The segment’s products include ventilation systems, smart surfaces, lighting modules, sunroof systems, fuel tanks, and exterior resin parts. The segment also produces premium upholstery for passenger vehicle applications. |
Integrated Assemblies | The segment provides advanced integrated module assembly and delivery solutions and is a leader in cockpit module integration. The segment also provides solutions such as center consoles, headliners, door panels, and exterior front-end modules. |
Emerging businesses | The segment consists of eight business divisions outside of the Company’s core business focus. The eight divisions are comprised of three automotive-related divisions, four non-automotive divisions, and one industry agnostic division. The eight divisions are: Elastomers, Lighting & Electronics, Precision Metals & Modules, Aerospace, Logistic Solutions, Health & Medical, Technology & Industrial Solutions, and Services. |
-In January 2022, the Company completed an internal reorganization, which led to the simplification and unification of the group’s structure. The reorganization consolidated all of the Company’s automotive components and allied business under a single umbrella. With the reorganization, the Company’s reporting structure is focused on business segments instead of individual companies or legal entities. In March 2024, the Company further simplified the structure of its international businesses by bringing a majority of its international businesses under the SMRP B.V. entity.
