Business Overview

-The Company is a focused lighting technology provider, which manufactures light bulbs, LEDs, OLEDs and semiconductor-based technologies.

-The Company adopts the construction form which concentrating on to three divisions: Opto Semiconductors (OS), Automotive (AM), Digital applications (DI).


Acquired by ams

-ams announced the successful closing of the Company acquisition. Following the closing, ams holds 69% of all shares in the Company (excluding treasury shares) on the basis of the takeover offer and additional purchases equivalent to a transaction value of around EUR 2.7 billion.  ams will announce further steps towards the integration of the two companies in due course. ams will leverage the strong technology, IP and market position of Osram and is convinced of its potential to become a world leader in the optical space, sensor solutions and photonics. (From a press release on July 9, 2020)
