Business Overview

-The Company is a subsidiary of Germany-based Continental AG. Continental AG is number 9 in MarkLines’ 2023 Supplier Rankings. The company officially started operations in China in 1994. Currently, the company has 23 production sites and 28 R&D centers in China and approximately 17,600 employees.

-On January 1, 2022, the Company restructured its former two sector business organization (Autonomous Mobility and Safety (AMS) and Vehicle Networking and Information (VNI)) into four business sectors: Automotive, Tires, ContiTech and Contract Manufacturing. The four sectors comprise a total of 17 business areas. In addition, the Contract Manufacturing division has taken over the operations of the former Powertrain Technologies division.

-In 2023, the Continental Group generated 21% of its sales in the USA (22% in 2022), 19% in Germany (18% in 2022) and 11% in China (12% in 2022). Other than these countries, there were no countries in which more than 10% of sales were achieved.

-Continental has established the following carbon neutrality goals:

Starting in 2022, Continental will fully promote carbon neutrality in zero-emission automobiles, buses, trains and other vehicles worldwide. By 2040, all of the Company’s production processes will achieve carbon-neutrality, and by 2050 at the latest, all operations companywide will be fully carbon-neutral.
