Divestitures

-The Company announced that it has sold the subsidiary Leoni Studer Hard GmbH with its location in Bautzen, Germany, to Ionisos SAS, a French-based specialist in ionizing radiation. The plant in Bautzen, which comprises about 30 employees and two electron beam accelerators, is providing irradiation crosslinking services to third-party customers. By selling this activity, the Company is making the first step in streamlining the scope of its Wire & Cable Solutions Division. (From a press release on November 4, 2016)

Acquisitions

-The Company will acquire a 51% stake in Wuhan Hengtong Automotive Wire Harness Co., Ltd. based in Hubei Province. The wire harness plant covers 13,000 square meters and employs approximately 1,000 people. Its sales in 2016 are expected to reach EUR 35 million. Leoni has spent three months preparing for this acquisition project, which will make it a wire harness supplier to Dongfeng Motor and Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile Limited. Contracts

-The Company obtained two follow-up orders from the PSA Group with a total lifetime sales volume of EUR 500 million. Starting in October 2018, the Company will equip a DS successor model as well as the future Peugeot 208 and 2008 with wiring systems. The recently awarded contracts comprise not only the product design and development but also include sequencing the deliveries and the responsibility for serial life through 2026. Dedicated for the European market, Leoni will manufacture different types of harnesses for the next generation models 208 and 2008 and a successor car of the DS brand in its plants in Eastern Europe and North Africa.
