Parts for Hybrid Vehicles
Main exhibits were power supply equipment such as DC-DC converters and AC inverters for hybrid cars. Followings are the products under development.
-Air-cooling converter
A DC-DC converter to convert power voltage of main battery of a hybrid car to DC14V for auxiliary equipment. To improve efficiency, this converter is powered up while achieving air-cooling function, allowing for easy installation on cars. Its features include high efficiency by adopting 2-stage circuit with a pressor converter, fewer parts by using self-developed IC, integration of air conditioning inverter circuits, use of common internal power supply, and being compact and low-cost by integrating the base into one.
-1.5kW AC Inverter
Capable of producing a large amount of electricity while the vehicle is being driven as well as parked using batteries designed for hybrid cars. Maximum output is 1.5kW. Household appliances that consume a high amount of electricity can be used in a car, including microwave ovens and hair driers. Charging of electric bicycles or electric carts is also possible. An air-cooling system to control rotation frequency of a fan depending on load level has been adopted.
-Plug-in Type Bi-directional Inverter
This inverter is an enhanced version of 1.5kW AC inverter on hybrid vehicles, also making it bi-directional. It is equipped with high-power AC output available for household appliances and provides charging function from household AC power supply to high pressure batteries. The size is made more compact and cost is reduced by adopting a self-developed IC.

■Parts for hybrid vehicles
By capitalizing on its 40 years of experience in working on forklift technology, the Company's area of particular expertise, the Company exhibited electronics parts such as DC-DC converters and AC inverters. For example, an electric power steering DC-DC converter is designed to operate EPS motors by converting the voltage of the main battery from 288V, to 42V.
The Company's 1.5kW AC inverter can generate electricity while the vehicle is being driven as well as parked. By using a battery designed for hybrid vehicles, it is possible to produce a maximum output of 1.5KW. This device will allow consumers to use household appliances that consume a high amount of electricity. These include microwave ovens and hair driers. Also, in case of emergencies, this AC inverter can be used as a source of electricity, as it can generate electricity for approximately 8 hours.
Air compressors for hybrid vehicles were also displayed.
-Compressors for air conditioners
In addition to the above mentioned parts, the Company displayed Variable Displacement Compressors, Fixed Displacements, and Co2 Refrigerant Compressor.
-Parts for diesel engines
*Cylinder blocks for high-power diesel engines are being mounted on the Toyota Avensis, Corolla, and Rav 4. Starting 2005 January, the Company will produce 7,500 units a year and plans to start production in its Polish factory from 2006 January. This Polish plant's planned production volume is 22,500 units a year.
-New Electronics Products
*"FM Radio Tuner IC" (Technical Information) and accompanying display device. This one-chip radio module, using Full CMOS RF IC technology, is not only micro-sized but also consumes the least amount of electricity in the world among radio modules.
*"Wireless LAN Module" (Technical Information)
This module was made even more compact.
*"White OLED Light Source" (Technical Information)
This device is the result of the Company's own development activities. It is ultra thin and exhibits a remarkable natural color. It also provides It also provides a superior level of brightness and has an extremely long product life.

Fixed Displacement Compressor
Seeking to achieve reliability, compactness, light weight, and high efficiency in harsh operating conditions, the Company offers a wide variety of car air conditioner compressors with indispensable features and functions, comprising the swash plate, scroll, and vane types. Since starting mass production of the world's first 10-cylinder swash plate compressor, the Company has further refined its technology. Its extensive product range has earned it the largest share of the global compressor market.

Variable Displacement Compressor
A variable displacement compressor controls the amount of refrigerant displaced by changing the angle of the rotating swash plate. Smooth control synchronized with engine and driving conditions not only improves driving comfort, but also, by reducing the energy required, improves engine performance with regard to the environment. Since the Company began mass production of the world's first one-way swash plate variable displacement compressor in 1995, it has continued to develop the technology, leading to energy efficiency and superior reliability.

"100W AC Inverter (Pre-installed Type/Portable Type)"
This inverter converts the auxiliary battery's direct current of 12 V to alternating current of 100 V, enabling the use inside the automobile of household appliances of up to 100 W. Electrical outlets inside the car allow a wide range of uses, from business to leisure.

Parking Assist System
The Company contributes to a comfortable motoring life with developing parking assisting technology that enables simple and easy operation when parking.
Automatic Parking (Under development) - Create the adaptive trajectory with measuring relative distance between the parking lot and the car. Performance Automatic Parking with automatic steering and automatic moving.
HiPAS - Achieving user-friendly parking guidance utilizing rear camera vision and audio guidance (highly functional type)
-Desired parking position is set by the cursor on the monitor
-Projected path is determined by the steering angle and displayed on the monitor
-Parallel parking is completed in two steps, and normal parking is in just one step
SiPAS (Simple PAS); Simple Structure and Simple Operation utilizing Sound Guiding
-Initial position is aligned through the sticker attached at the door window
-Steering operation is simplified by using only full degrees
-Only the yaw rate sensor signal is necessary to recognize the position of the car
Hybrid Vehicle
Electric Compressor
Electric compressors have a built-in motor. Since they can operate unconstrained by engine speed, they are capable of operating efficiently in response to the requirements of the vehicle. The compressor portion of the display is a highly efficient scroll-type compressor.

Two-way Motor-and-Engine Compressor
The world's first newly developed two-way motor-and-engine compressor with a built-in motor achieves both comfort and improved fuel economy while the air conditioner is in use, thanks to the fact that while the engine is running the compressor is driven by the engine, and when the engine is stopped, as when idling, it is driven by the built-in motor.

1.5kW AC Inverter
This inverter is capable of producing a maximum output of 1.5 kW, either while the vehicle is being driven or when it is stopped, using a hybrid vehicle battery. In addition to permitting the use inside the vehicle of household appliances with significant power consumption, such as microwave ovens or hair dryers, the inverter also enables charging of power assist bicycles or electrical carts.

DC-DC Converter
This converter converts output from the 202-volt high voltage battery to be used by the 12-volt auxiliary battery. Changes in the circuitry have resulted in fewer parts than in conventional models, allowing the converter to achieve a small size and high efficiency. Because it permits idle stop while the auxiliary battery is charging, it is an indispensable component of the hybrid vehicle.

Fuel Cell Vehicle
Air Compressor & Hydrogen Circulation Pump
The air compressor feeds oxygen into the fuel cell. The hydrogen circulation pump circulates hydrogen through the fuel cell. The Company has achieved superior efficiency by utilizing technology developed by air conditioning compressors.
Hydrogen Circulation Pump Inverter
The revolutions of the hydrogen circulation pump's motor are controlled by commands issued by the vehicle. The position of the motor is detected without sensors.
Power Control Unit Case
This case houses the output control module of a fuel cell. In order to protect electronic components, which generate heat during operation, it is constructed with a fine groove called a "fin" through which coolant flows. Thanks to a newly developed aluminum material, the case combines the necessary thermal conductivity with strength that resists vibration to remove heat quickly.
CO2 Refrigerant Compressor
The Company is developing a compressor that uses CO2 refrigerant, which has little effect on global warming.
