Stamped products
Sales 39,071 45,932 (14.9) -Sales significantly decreased in the first half of the year as a result of automakers reducing production volume and concentrating on reducing their inventories on hand. 
-Sales were relatively good in the latter half of the year, as automotive production in Japan gradually increased, mainly due to sales-incentive tax breaks.
-Yearly sales were down.

Subsidiary established in China

-The Company announced its plan to establish a subsidiary in Guangdong Province, China, which will be dedicated to manufacturing automotive stamping parts. The entity will be set up in January 2010 and is due to become operative in June 2011. Total investment is approximately 6 billion yen including capital injection of 2 billion yen, which will be entirely funded by Topre. The new unit expects to have sales of 1.5 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 2012, and 5 to 6 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 2014. (From a press release on October 22, 2009)
- The Company has established a wholly owned subsidiary Topre (Foshan) Automobile Parts Co., Ltd. in Guangdong Province, China, which is dedicated to manufacturing automotive stamping parts. Total investment is approximately 6 billion yen including capital injection of 2 billion yen. The new unit expects to become operational in June 2011. (From a press release on January 12, 2010)

R&D Structure

-R&D Headquarters: The Company is developing  and commercializing new products which make use of its core technologies.
-The Divisions: All of the divisions are developing new products and technologies, with the idea of creating new features.

 

R&D Achievements

Stamped Products Business
-The Company finished developing a die quenching method used to stamp automotive parts. It had been working on this in order to respond to needs for making automotive bodies lighter and meet new fuel efficiency requirements. It also started mass-production of stamped parts using this new technology.
-The Company began developing technology aimed at making car-body parts even stronger. The technology is designed to make 1,180MPa, high-strength body parts by improving upon the existing 980MPa products, which are currently the world's strongest cold stamped products.

Stamped Products Business
-The Company made a capital investment of 10,133 million yen during FY2009.
-This includes a 3,616 million yen investment mainly in dies for stamping automotive parts.
-This also includes 6,516 million yen mainly invested in facilities to produce stamped automotive parts at Topre Kyusyu Co., Ltd.; Topre Saitama Co., Ltd.; and Topre America Corporation.
