MAHLE Holding (China) Co., Ltd. Business Report FY ended Dec. 2024
Performance
-Mahle's sales in 2023 (for the fiscal year ended December 2023) increased by 3.1% year-over-year (y/y) to EUR 12.8178 billion. After deducting the impact of consolidation changes and foreign exchange, the year-over-year growth was 8.2%. Negative foreign exchange rate impacts resulted in a decrease in sales of EUR 631 million. Mainly due to strong sales in Europe and North America, the company's existing business sales increased by EUR 1.015 billion. Offsetting measures, such as price adjustments, are needed to cope with the continued challenging and volatile market environment, including high inflation.
Exhibition
-Mahle participated in the EAC (Enmore Automotive Conference) 2024 held in Suzhou from June 21 to 22, where it made a speech on thermal management solutions and exhibited a multitude of related key products.
Containing elements such as an electric compressor, an EV cooling module, a coolant control module, an intelligent liquid storage and drying chamber module, a battery cooling plate, and an electronic cooling plate, the Mahle direct-type thermal management system comes with ultra-high integration and an optimized runner design. The thermal management integration module integrates thermal management components such as a heat exchanger, an electric compressor, a cooling water pump, a condenser, a battery cooler, a sensor, and a valve into an efficient and compact module. Compared with pure electric heating systems, the module extends vehicle range by up to 20% working in conjunction with a heat pump. The battery cooling plate employs a bionic cooling runner system for better thermodynamic properties, delivering a remarkable 10% enhancement in cooling performance and a 20% reduction in pressure loss to guarantee reliable battery operation at moderate and uniform temperatures. The four-zone heat pump air conditioner specifically developed for New Energy Vehicles enables completely independent control of temperature, wind direction, and air volume. Its heat pump core offers superior heat exchange performance, greatly extending EV range in cold weather. (From a Mahle press release dated June 24, 2024)
Alliances
-MAHLE China entered a strategic alliance with Weichai Power Co., Ltd. (Weichai Power). In the field of internal combustion engines, the two companies mainly aim to improve the reliability, carbon emissions, and thermal efficiency of medium- and heavy-duty engines. In addition, they will develop new energy power sources such as hydrogen. The scope of the partnership covers MAHLE’s engine components, filter systems, engine peripherals, thermal management, automotive electronics and mechatronics, natural gas, hydrogen energy and other related products.
