Orders

-CALB announced that its enhanced high-voltage ternary cells will be installed in all 4 variants of the P7i smart coupe recently unveiled by XPeng. The P7i supports a range of up to 702km in the CLTC (China light duty vehicle test cycle) mode. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds. The vehicle battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in only 29 minutes. Charging efficiency has been increased by 90%. The new model can replenish a range of up to 240km on a 10-minute charge. At the same time, CALB has applied the TPP (Thermal Propagation Prevention) technology, which is unprecedented in the industry, to enhance security. (From a press release dated March 10, 2023)

-CALB announced that a variety of its battery packs will be installed in the C-series models Leapmotor unveiled recently. There are two range-extender variants of the Leapmotor C11: 180 Comfort Edition and 285 Comfort / Smart Edition. The 180 Comfort Edition will be powered by CALB’s lithium iron phosphate battery with a power output of 200kW. The 285 Comfort / Smart Edition high-voltage ternary cell battery with a capacity of 43.74kWh, supporting a range of 285km in EV mode and a combined range of 1,024km in the CLTC (China light duty vehicle test cycle) mode. The 525 Comfort Edition of the 2023 Leapmotor C01 will be powered by CALB’s L300 series lithium-ion iron phosphate battery. It is a prismatic battery which is 300mm in length and features all-tab lamination technology. Production of this battery has already begun. (From a press release dated March 2, 2023)

-CALB announced that it has passed Honda's QAV2-5 and Safety Vision assessment. CALB will supply GAC Honda’s e:NP1 and e:NS1 models. (From a press release dated February 23, 2023)

-CALB announced that its Smart #1 power battery has been certified by TüV Rheinland and awarded the Carbon Footprint Certificate based on the EU Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) and ISO14067. The power battery is a fast charging product of CALB with high voltage, high energy storage density, high safety and long service life. -CALB announced that the XPeng G9 will be powered by the next-generation iron-lithium battery and medium-nickel high-voltage ternary lithium battery developed by CALB based on the 800V high-voltage platform. The batteries support a range of 570-702km. They also support high-rate fast charging. The XPeng G9 can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The iron-lithium battery adopts a new fast-charging electrolyte, enabling its battery cycle life to exceed 2,500 times. The medium-nickel high-voltage ternary lithium battery has an energy density of 250Wh/kg. It adopts innovative designs such as a new minimalist cover plate, which improves the space utilization of the two cells. New products

Ultrahigh Power cylinder cell
-CALB announced that it debuted the Ultrahigh Power cylinder cell at the China EV100 Forum 2023. This innovation is based on CALB’s One-Stop (OS) minimalist design, developed through innovations in the structure and chemical system. The battery adopts the industry’s first “U” structure, which reduces the internal resistance of the structure by 50% and achieves an energy density of 300Wh/kg. It realizes 6C+ fast charging, achieving a significant improvement in manufacturing efficiency and battery performance compared to traditional cylindrical batteries. One-Stop Hi-Mn LXFP Battery
-CALB announced that the company released the One-Stop Hi-Mn LXFP Battery (OS Battery). The battery has gone through the pilot-scale tests and is now being tested for reliability performance. The OS battery, which has reorganized cell structure and manufacturing technology, represents the fourth shape following cylindrical, pouch, and prismatic, achieving higher energy density, production efficiency, and volume utilization rate. The 1st-generation lithium iron phosphate battery pack using OS technology has an energy density of 152Wh/kg, an overall energy density retention rate of 77%, and a range of over 600km. Product manufacturing trends

-CALB announced that it has started production of power supply systems using lithium-ion iron phosphate battery packs at its Wuhan plant. The product is CALB’s standard pack for new-generation D-MIR commercial vehicles. It will be installed in several popular NEV (New Energy Vehicle) models from some leading NEV makers. -CALB announced that it completed the start-up of the 50GWh power battery and energy storage battery production at the Hefei plant, and signed a contract for the third-phase project. The L221 product, which just rolled off the production line, is a medium-nickel high-voltage ternary battery developed for long ranges of 600km or more. It adopts the all-pole tab lamination battery technology invented by CALB. Energy density exceeds 250Wh/kg. It can be used at temperatures between -30℃ and 55℃, supports fast charging, and it will mainly be equipped on export models. Moreover, CALB and Changfeng County of Hefei City signed a contract for the third-phase project of the Hefei plant. (From a press release dated October 8, 2022)

-CALB announced that its first power batteries rolled off the assembly line at its first-phase facility in Wuhan. The battery product is a new-generation iron-lithium battery built on the 800V high-voltage platform developed by CALB. It supports supercharging and mainly applies to the passenger car market. It has been installed in the XPeng G9. Several production lines at CALB’s first-phase facility in Wuhan have started operation as scheduled. -CALB announced that at its third-phase facility in Jiangsu, the first CIR (Cell in Room) battery system rolled off the assembly line. The CIR battery system has no end plates, no side plates, and no cable ties. It is the mass-produced product of the C2P (Cell-to-Pack) prismatic cell. The process is simplified by about 25%, and the space occupancy rate at the production line is reduced by 30%. The product also applies the pulse self-heating technology launched by CALB, enabling to raise the temperature by 3℃ per minute. The battery packs recently delivered at the first CIR production line of CALB’s third-phase facility in Jiangsu will equip a flagship model under a strategic client of the company. -CALB announced that a power supply system featuring excellent safety and high energy density rolled off the second production line of the Xiamen plant. The second production line of the Xiamen plant has realized fully automated production from battery cells to modules and packs, and increased the module production capacity by 60%. The battery packs produced on this production line have traits such as excellent safety, long service life, and high energy density. They have been installed in numerous popular models. Moreover, the first battery pack to apply the company’s CIR battery platform is scheduled to roll off CALB’s third production line in Jiangsu soon. (From a press release dated August 30, 2022)

 

Strategic cooperation

Forsee Power
-Forsee Power announced that it is partnering with Chinese cell manufacturer and global leader in new energy technology China Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. (CALB), for the sourcing of very high energy density cells to be integrated into its battery systems. CALB is the first supplier of Forsee Power to be submitted to the third-party audit. The audit confirmed the high level of social, environmental and governance practices of CALB. CALB supplies NMC lithium-ion battery technologies integrated into Forsee Power’s high-energy battery systems. CALB announced the construction of its European gigafactory in Portugal, presenting a European sourcing opportunity for Forsee Power in the future.   (From a CALB press release dated January 31, 2023)

Meishan City and Ganzi Prefecture in Sichuan Province
-CALB announced that it signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement with Meishan City and Ganzi Prefecture in Sichuan Province. At the same time, CALB signed a four-party investment cooperation agreement with SD Lomon. The Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province represents an important lithium mining area. The signing of the agreements provides an opportunity for all related parties to pool resources and enhance cooperation. Moreover, four parties will set up a joint venture in Sichuan to run the project, aiming to develop green and low-carbon industries in Sichuan. (From a press release dated June 17, 2022)

 

Stock transfer

-The company signed a share transfer agreement with Jiangsu Jinhang Holding Co., Ltd. (Jinhang Holding). The company will transfer its 49% stake in China Aviation (Luoyang) Co., Ltd. to Jinhang Holding. CALB and Shanghai Energy New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yunnan Energy New Material Co., Ltd. (Semcorp Group), announced that they have begun construction of lithium battery projects in Jintan District of Changzhou, a city in Jiangsu Province. CALB will build a high-energy-density lithium battery manufacturing site in the Hua Luogeng High-tech Industrial Development Zone in the city. The site will be supported by an investment of CNY 12 billion. Construction of the site will begin in March 2022. The site is expected to start operation in December 2023 and will have an annual capacity of 30GWh lithium batteries when running at its full capacity. Annual sales of the site are estimated at CNY 10 billion. Shanghai Energy New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. will build an NEV lithium battery separator manufacturing site in an economic development zone in Jintan District. The company will invest CNY 5.2 billion in the site, which has a floor area of 158,000 square meters and will be built in three phases. The site will include 16 separator production lines and is expected to begin operation in June 2026. It will be capable of annually producing one billion square meters of lithium battery base films and the same volume of lithium battery coated films when running at its full capacity.
