-The Bosch Group's sales in China in the fiscal year ended December 2021 increased by 9.1% from the previous year to CNY 128.6 billion (about EUR 16.7 billion).

Business Partnership

Hycan Automobile Technology
-Bosch China announced that it has developed automated valet parking with Hycan Automobile Technology. This technology will be installed in the Hycan Z03. When the driver activates the automated valet parking function on their smartphone, the vehicle will automatically drive to the parking lot as commanded and park at the designated location by accurately identifying the direction while avoiding obstacles. The automated valet parking technology is categorized under Level-4 autonomous driving. (From a press release dated September 22, 2021)

BYD
-On March 30, 2021, BYD Co., Ltd. (BYD) and Bosch Group (Bosch) jointly launched the dTCS (distributed traction control system), as well as the world’s first NEV (New Energy Vehicle) equipped with dTCS, the Han EV four-wheel-drive version.
The dTCS is a driving force control system specially built for NEVs. It ensures that the vehicle obtains the best adhesion under various complex road conditions such as ice and snow, and responds quickly, preventing tire slippage. (From a BYD WeChat platform press release)

Dayun Automobile
-Dayun Automobile Co., Ltd. (Dayun Automobile) and Bosch (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (Bosch China) announced that they have entered into a strategic alliance on July 8, 2021 in Uncheng, Shanxi Province. The two companies as long-term partners will open a joint R&D center. The center will focus on areas such as integrated chassis, autonomous driving, connected, smart transportation and electronic control systems. Bosch will provide Dayun Automobile with world-leading solutions for their development. Under the agreement, Dayun and Bosch will jointly develop a New Energy Vehicle with world-leading performance and a long driving range, the first model of which will be unveiled at the 2022 Beijing Motor Show. Weifu High-Technology
-Bosch China announced that it has concluded a strategic partnership framework agreement with the Wuxi National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee (Wuxi Hi-Tech) and the Weifu High-Technology Group Co., Ltd. (Weifu High-Technology). The three parties will cooperate toward carbon neutrality and carbon peak out. Under the agreement, Bosch China will set up a think-tank in the Wuxi National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone to study carbon neutrality, and provide consulting services on the selection criteria for low-carbon emission model companies, systematic methods of calculating CO2 emissions, and setting CO2 reduction targets. In addition, Bosch China will work with Weifu High-Technology in the field of carbon neutrality to support analyzing CO2 emissions from Weifu High-Technology’s plant and setting and implementing CO2 reduction strategies. 2022 Haikou NEV Show
-Bosch China announced that it displayed an array of products at the 2022 Haikou International New Energy Vehicle & Connected Mobility Show (2022 Haikou NEV Show). These products include a dedicated fuel cell system solution for medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, a compact eAxle which combines the motor, power electronics and transmission in one system, the power electronic controller INVCON3U, an onboard charging and distribution unit, motor-generators, a thermal management system for electric vehicles, a steel pushbelt used in CVT4EV (pushbelt CVT for electric vehicles), an intelligent cockpit domain controller, an occupant monitoring system, a steer-by-wire system, a column electrical power steering system (EPSc), an innovative braking system, an upgraded version of Bosch’s fifth-generation millimeter-wave radar, fifth generation millimeter wave radar for commercial vehicles, a third-generation multifunctional camera including for commercial vehicles, and a test bench model for 150kW fuel cell stacks. 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE)
-Bosch China announced that it has showcased multiple low-carbon and energy-saving products in the field of transportation network at the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE). These products include a next-generation windshield wiper spray system, which integrates the nozzle device on the wiper blade, so that the nozzle angle and direction can be adjusted. In this way, the spray can be more precise, which can reduce 30% of the washer fluid loss. The volume of the washer fluid reservoir can also be decreased to facilitate lighter vehicles, energy saving and emission reduction. In addition, Bosch exhibited a multispeed transmission solution, the CVT4EV, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) specially designed for electric vehicles. By running the electric motor at its most efficient operating point, CVT4EV increases the driving range with lower energy consumption. Auto Shanghai 2021
-Bosch China announced that it will exhibit a variety of intelligent transportation solutions at the Auto Shanghai 2021. The company will present advanced driver assistance (ADAS) solutions, fuel cell systems, electrification solutions covering mild hybrid vehicles (MHVs) to electric vehicles (EVs), automotive chips and sensor solutions, and others. For parking assist functions, Bosch will exhibit a product that is a combination of ultrasonic sensors, surround-view camera systems and corner radar. For braking system solutions, the company will exhibit integrated power brakes (IPB), 2nd generation electric brake boosters (iBooster2) and ESP (electronic stability program). For automotive chips, Bosch will exhibit MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) sensors, system integrated circuits, power semiconductors and IP modules. In addition, fuel cell power modules, electric drive axles, automatic valet parking (AVP), and in-vehicle computing platform solutions released by United Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd., a Bosch subsidiary, will also be presented. New companies

-Bosch China announced that Bosch Hydrogen Power System (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. started the construction of its new plant in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Bosch Hydrogen Power System (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. endeavors to provide customers with zero-emission hydrogen powertrain solutions which have advantages in economy, environmental adaptability, safety, and intelligence. The new plant will be a multi-function center integrating R&D and testing, manufacturing, and sales management. It will cover an area of about 240,000 square meters. The first phase is to build a R&D and testing center, manufacturing center and office area which take up about 100,000 square meters. It is expected to start production by the end of May 2023. -Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH (RBVC), the corporate venture capital company of the Bosch Group, announced that it has established Boyuan Private Equity Capital Management Company Ltd. (Boyuan Capital), an investment platform for deep-tech investments in China. RBVC, together with Wuxi Weifu High-Technology Group Co., Ltd., will participate in the closing of the first round of the Bosch China Growth Fund I, Bosch's first fund. With a fund target of CNY 1 billion, the fund will invest in the areas of automotive and mobility services, smart manufacturing, IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and carbon neutrality. -Bosch China announced that its subsidiary, ITK Engineering GmbH, has established a Chinese subsidiary, ITK Engineering (Wuxi) Co,. Ltd., in Wuxi. The Chinese subsidiary will initially focus on the automotive business, providing system design, software development, testing and verification, and consulting services in the areas of vehicle control systems, autonomous driving, and connected technologies. In the medium term, the company plans to expand its business domain to China's medical and non-automotive technology markets. (From a press release dated August 18, 2021)

Hydrogen energy related trends

-Bosch China announced that its first commercial vehicle equipped with the company's hydrogen power system has been officially delivered and is now in operation. The hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle is powered by the hydrogen power system produced by Bosch Hydrogen Powertrain Systems (Chongqing) Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Bosch China and Qingling Motors (Group) Co., Ltd. The system uses Bosch's advanced battery stack, hydrogen supply module, electric compressor and sensors, and has the advantages of economy, environmental adaptability, safety, and intelligence. This hydrogen-powered vehicle’s consumption of hydrogen is low and can travel 500 km on hydrogen alone, with a life span of 20,000 hours. (From a press release dated August 13, 2021)
