Strategic cooperation

-The company held a technical exhibition at and signed a cooperation agreement with Volvo Car, APAC Headquarters (Volvo Car). According to the agreement, BHAP will follow the development of Volvo Car and provide better products and services by integrating global resources, enhancing support to the industrial chain and optimizing the layout of production plants. With preferential treatment in “CASE” (Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electrified) areas, the parties will accelerate collaborative innovation and seek a mutually beneficial and win-win partnership. -The company announced that it signed a strategic partnership agreement with the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center (NEVC). They will cooperate on key technologies related to new energy vehicles. By fully leveraging their respective resources, the parties will provide the new energy vehicle industry with prospective technologies, innovative services and systematic solutions. -The company announced that its affiliate Beijing Daelim Wanda Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Daelim Corporation of Korea, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Binzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone. It is a strategic collaboration of both parties to accelerate business transformation and the construction of an industrial base related to weight reduction utilizing the strengths of the aluminum industry in Binzhou City. New products

-The company announced that it will display new products in the fields of light weight, electrification, intelligence and connected at the Auto China 2020. In terms of new energy and intelligent connection, the company will exhibit the central intelligent gateway, intelligent driving perception fusion system, intelligent automotive lighting and intelligent sunroof. For electrification, integrated and modular solutions, integrated lightweight battery cases, integrated electric drive systems and integrated high voltage power systems are to be shown. Regarding automotive light weight, the automotive lightweight solutions are to be exhibited via a lightweight integrated demonstration vehicle. The company will also display component technologies and modular products in the fields of interior and exterior trim, electronic and electrical products, chassis, power, body, new energy and intelligent connection. -The company recently participated in the Volvo Sustainable Tech Show 2020 along with its subsidiaries including Bohai Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., Hainachuan (Binzhou) Lightweight Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. and Beijing Beiqi Mould & Plastic Technology Co., Ltd. Various lightweight products from BHAP were displayed at the show, including shock towers, pistons, instrument panel module brackets and engine cylinder blocks. -The company announced that it has introduced a “clean cockpit” solution to protect the health of vehicle drivers and passengers. The “clean cockpit” integrates an air filtering and purification system with a sterilization system and is able to accurately sense the in-vehicle environment with a highly-sensitive laser PM2.5 sensor. Additionally, the CAN (Controller Area Network) architecture will provide real-time monitoring of in-vehicle air quality through visualized models. The “clean cockpit” is also equipped with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter and the filter cloth is the same as that used for N95 surgical masks. It will create an in-vehicle environment with more than 4 million anions per cubic centimeter and provide high-efficiency active carbon filtration. With the aforementioned technologies, the “clean cockpit” will realize a sterilization rate of 95% and a safe protection level equal to that of a N95 mask. -Trimet, a subsidiary of Bohai Automobile, and well-known European universities have jointly developed a hub motor. The single unit weighs less than 20 kg, has a power of 40 kilowatts, and a torque of 300 Nm. It has the advantages of light weight, low cost, and high efficiency.

-The company has developed a 7-series aluminum alloy battery tray that applies aviation-grade “7-series aluminum” to the lower case of the battery pack, which can increase the energy capacity of B-class pure electric car batteries by about 50% under the existing volume and weight.

-The company has developed an electric compressor with integrated frequency converter, which is characterized by strong cooling capacity, low noise and low power consumption, which can effectively improve the cruising range and comfort of electric vehicles. In addition, a large-load active and passive gear has been developed, which is characterized by good NVH performance and greater load bearing.

R&D

-The company exhibited new products in the field of "lightweight, electrified. intelligent" at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. In the field of lightweight, a variety of products developed and manufactured for Audi, Porsche, Magna and other customers were exhibited, such as aluminum alloy rear shock tower, DCT300 transmission housing, hybrid system battery box, aluminum alloy A-pillar, cast aluminum spoiler bracket, nylon-carbon fiber skylight frame, and aluminum alloy wheel hub. In addition, in the field of electrification and intelligence, products such as hub motors jointly developed by Trimet and well-known European universities, 7-series aluminum alloy battery trays, integrated inverter electric compressors, and heavy-load active and passive gears were exhibited. The company also exhibited a self-developed sensor fusion system with the intelligent driving system as the main aspect. The comprehensive analysis of the camera and lidar data collected through neural network algorithms can achieve rapid and accurate identification of objects, distances, and movements. Orders

-The company announced that two of its affiliates will supply products for the BEIJING-X7. Specifically, Beijing Hella BHAP Automotive Lighting Co., Ltd. will supply a front combination lamp, while Beijing Haisongyuan Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. will supply its next-generation 28cc electric compressor. The front combination lamp consists of an array of three modules and uses a small 50X35 millimeter lens and LED light source. Compared to its previous model, the new 28cc electric compressor is said to be 17% smaller and 10% lighter and improves electromagnetic compatibility as well as cooling capacity by 13%. -The company announced that its affiliates will supply several products for the ARCFOX αT electric vehicle (EV). These affiliates include BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Hainachuan (Binzhou) Lightweight Auto Parts Co., Ltd., Gestamp Auto Components (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., and Beijing Hella BHAP Automotive Lighting Co., Ltd.
