-Bosch (China) Investment Ltd. is a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH (Bosch), one of Germany's leading component manufacturers. Bosch first entered the Chinese market in 1909. Since then, the company has implemented a long-term strategy of locally-based services in China, providing products and solutions to the local Chinese market.

-The Company’s Mobility Solutions business sector’s sales increased by 7.0% in the fiscal year ended December 31, 2023, to EUR 56.3 billion. Excluding exchange-rate effects, sales in the business sector increased by 10.9%. Among them, sales in the Asia-Pacific market reached EUR 27.9 billion, a slight increase of 1% year-over-year (y/y), and the increase after adjusting for exchange rate effects was 9%.

-In 2023, Bosch Group's sales in China reached CNY 139.1 billion (about EUR 18.2 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, and the number of employees in China was nearly 58,000.

-Bosch Group is reorganizing its automotive and intelligent transportation technology business. After the reorganization, it will be renamed "Bosch Intelligent Transportation Business" and continue to be subordinate to Bosch Group. At the same time, a business board of directors will be established to be independently responsible for business operations. The main pillar of future growth will be automotive software, whose market size is expected to triple by 2030. Bosch's Intelligent Mobility business will provide customers with operating system software and domain-specific applications for software-defined vehicles. In addition, Bosch is also vigorously expanding its automotive electronics business.

Gasoline engine systems

In 1995, the Group and a consortium lead by SAIC established a joint venture called United Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd., with both sides each investing 50% in the new company. The company manufactures gasoline engine management systems (EMS) at its facilities in Shanghai, Wuxi, and Xian. The company has a dominant market share in China.

Diesel engine systems

In 2004, the Group and Weifu High-Technology Co., Ltd. established a joint venture called Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. In 2005, the company started operations at its plant to manufacture common rail high-pressure fuel injection systems. The company concurrently started operations at its technical center to develop diesel engine technology.

Automotive electronics

In 2003, Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. started operations on its ABS production lines. In 2005, the company built a technical center within its facility in order to research and develop vehicle safety systems. In 2006, it completed a new facility to manufacture automotive electronic components such as ABSs, ESPs, TCSs, various control units, and body electronic products.

Electric drivetrain systems, Starter motors, Alternators In 2004, the Group established Bosch Automotive Products (Changsha) Co., Ltd., which started supplying starters and alternators in the same year. In 2006, this company started making motors at its new facility. In August 2016, Robert Bosch Motor (China) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch Group (China), began operations in Changsha.
Steering systems

In 1994, ZF Lenksysteme, a joint venture between Bosch and ZF, established Shanghai ZF Steering Co., Ltd. Shanghai ZF Steering currently holds the largest market share in steering systems in China. In Jan. 2015, Bosch Group completed its acquisition of ZF Friedrichshafen AG's 50% share in the joint venture ZF Lenksysteme GmbH. Shanghai ZF Steering became a subsidiary of Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH.

1984 Based on a 10-year patent and technology licensing agreement it signed with Weifu High-Technology Co., Ltd., the Company licensed out its production technology and its related information on the A-series fuel injection pumps to Weifu High-Technology.

Jan. 2015 Bosch Group completed its acquisition of ZF Friedrichshafen AG's 50% share in the joint venture ZF Lenksysteme GmbH.  ZF Lenksysteme GmbH changed its name into "Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH" and became Bosch's wholly owned subsidiary. The Chinese subsidiaries of  ZF Lenksysteme would be merged into Bosch Group.
Aug. 2016 Robert Bosch Motor (China) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch Group (China), began operations in the Changsha.
May. 2017 Guangdong Vanbo Electric Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Bosch and Guangdong Vanward New Electric Co., Ltd., was established and operated.
Jul. 2019 The Bosch Digital Cabin R&D Center was inaugurated in Shanghai.
