The Volvo EX30 is built on the SEA platform developed by the Chinese automobile manufacturer Geely.



Key Features
- The Volvo EX30 is based on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform developed by Geely, which also supports the Smart #1 and provides a modular basis for a range of other electric cars of different sizes.
- The model analyzed in this teardown is the Single Motor Extended Range version, equipped with a 69 kWh (NMC) battery pack.
- Single Motor Standard Range version equipped with a 51 kWh (LFP) battery pack.
- The cells are supplied by CATL, and the battery pack uses two types of modules: two large modules with 46 cells each and smaller modules with 12 cells. In both cases, the cooling plates are integrated into the bottom of the modules.
- Battery management solutions are provided by VREMT (A new energy technology company under the Geely Group).
- The battery pack is shared across other OEMs like Volvo to achieve economies of scale.
