French passenger car sales fall 14.5% in December, up 3.0% in 2018
On January 2, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that December new passenger car sales in France of 165,390 units had decreased 14.5% from the same month one year ago.
Total 2018 sales of 2,173,481 units had increased 3.0% from 2017.
December domestic brand sales of 90,885 units had decreased 10.6% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 55.0%.
PSA Group sales of 49,818 units decreased 1.9% (30.1% share) while Renault Group sales of 41,058 units decreased 19.2% (24.8% share).
Foreign brand sales in December of 74,505 units decreased 18.8% (45.0% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 23,096 units decreased 14.1% (14.0% share), while Toyota Group sales of 8,664 units decreased 2.6% (5.2% share).
Daimler Group sales of 8,296 units decreased 20.0% (5.0% share).
BMW Group sales of 7,790 units decreased 22.2% (4.7% share), while FCA Group sales of 6,105 units decreased 21.8% (3.7% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 2.9% in December to 40,729 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in December of 4,367 units increased 0.8% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales fall 4.7% in November
On December 3, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that November new car sales in France of 171,611 units had decreased 4.7% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first eleven months of 2018 increased 4.7% from the same period in 2017 to 2,008,091 units.
November domestic brand sales of 96,801 units had decreased 4.2% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 56.4%.
PSA Group sales of 58,629 units increased 1.9% (34.2% share) while Renault Group sales of 38,163 units decreased 12.3% (22.2% share).
Foreign brand sales in November of 74,810 units decreased 5.2% (43.6% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 22,174 units decreased 0.8% (12.9% share), while Toyota Group sales of 9,476 units increased 20.4% (5.5% share).
BMW Group sales of 7,567 units decreased 7.4% (4.4% share).
Daimler Group sales of 7,146 units decreased 8.8% (4.2% share), while FCA Group sales of 6,482 units decreased 14.1% (3.8% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 3.1% in November to 40,030 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in November of 4,949 units increased 5.6% from the same month a year ago.

On November 2, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that October new car sales in France of 173,799 units had decreased 1.5% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first ten months of 2018 increased 5.7% from the same period in 2017 to 1,836,481 units.
October domestic brand sales of 101,393 units had increased 3.9% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 58.3%.
PSA Group sales of 61,668 units increased 9.2% (35.5% share) while Renault Group sales of 39,718 units decreased 3.4% (22.9% share).
Foreign brand sales in October of 72,406 units decreased 8.2% (41.7% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 17,531 units decreased 23.5% (10.1% share), while Toyota Group sales of 9,840 units increased 17.6% (5.7% share).
BMW Group sales of 7,905 units increased 1.3% (4.5% share).
Ford sales of 7,563 units increased 13.7% (4.4% share), while Daimler Group sales of 7,086 units increased 7.7% (4.1% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 6.7% in October to 42,026 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in October of 5,662 units increased 12.3% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales fall 12.8% in September
On October 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that September new car sales in France of 148,752 units had decreased 12.8% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first nine months of 2018 increased 6.5% from the same period in 2017 to 1,662,684 units.
September domestic brand sales of 90,639 units had decreased 7.0% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 60.9%.
PSA Group sales of 53,144 units increased 2.6% (35.7% share) while Renault Group sales of 37,489 units decreased 17.8% (25.2% share).
Foreign brand sales in September of 58,113 units decreased 20.6% (39.1% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 13,068 units decreased 36.3% (8.8% share), while Toyota Group sales of 7,511 units increased 9.8% (5.0% share).
BMW Group sales of 7,003 units decreased 0.7% (4.7% share).
Hyundai Group sales of 6,217 units increased 18.6% (4.2% share), while Daimler Group sales of 6,199 units decreased 12.2% (4.2% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) decreased by 2.6% in September to 34,638 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in September of 4,386 units increased 7.7% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales rise 40.0% in August
On September 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that August new car sales in France of 150,391 units had increased 40.0% from the same month one year ago.
Sales gains are largely due to effects of new emissions standards that took effect on September 1, 2018. Many automakers seem to have offered discounts and other incentives to sell any remaining non-WLTP compliant vehicles.
New car sales for the first eight months of 2018 increased 8.9% from the same period in 2017 to 1,513,933 units.
August domestic brand sales of 78,803 units had increased 36.0% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 52.4%.
Renault Group sales of 39,445 units increased 52.4% (26.2% share) while PSA Group sales of 39,328 units increased 22.7% (26.2% share).

Toyota Group sales of 6,488 units increased 14.1% (4.3% share), while BMW Group sales of 5,472 units increased 9.3% (3.6% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 12.6% in August to 26,306 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in August of 2,577 units increased 18.2% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales rise 18.9% in July
On August 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that July new car sales in France of 175,396 units had increased 18.9% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first seven months of 2018 increased 6.3% from the same period in 2017 to 1,363,546 units.
July domestic brand sales of 93,799 units had increased 23.1% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 53.5%.
PSA Group sales of 56,191 units increased 28.2% (32.0% share) while Renault Group sales of 37,575 units increased 16.1% (21.4% share).
Foreign brand sales in July of 81,597 units increased 14.5% (46.5% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 24,296 units increased 19.7% (13.9% share), while FCA Group sales of 10,456 units increased 56.0% (6.0% share).
Toyota Group sales of 9,122 units increased 30.3% (5.2% share).
Nissan Group sales of 7,040 units increased 45.8% (4.0% share), while Hyundai Group sales of 6,619 units increased 24.7% (3.8% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 5.2% in July to 33,989 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in July of 4,967 units increased 25.3% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales rise 9.2% in June
On July 2, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that June new car sales in France of 252,222 units had increased 9.2% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first half of 2018 increased 4.7% from the same period in 2017 to 1,188,156 units.
June domestic brand sales of 153,961 units had increased 17.4% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 61.0%.
PSA Group sales of 77,762 units increased 19.1% (30.8% share) while Renault Group sales of 76,177 units increased 15.7% (30.2% share).
Foreign brand sales in June of 98,261 units decreased 1.5% (39.0% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 29,156 units increased 15.4% (11.6% share), while FCA Group sales of 13,019 units increased 30.7% (5.2% share).
Toyota Group sales of 9,925 units increased 15.2% (3.9% share).
BMW Group sales of 8,731 units decreased 6.5% (3.5% share), while Hyundai Group sales of 7,777 units increased 20.9% (3.1% share).

French car sales rise 0.2% in May
On June 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that May new car sales in France of 191,705 units had increased 0.2% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first five months of 2018 increased 3.5% from the same period in 2017 to 935,937 units.
May domestic brand sales of 109,056 units had increased 5.5% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 56.9%.
PSA Group sales of 59,499 units increased 9.9% (31.0% share) while Renault Group sales of 49,525 units increased 0.7% (25.8% share).
Foreign brand sales in May of 82,649 units decreased 6.2% (43.1% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 23,420 units decreased 7.7% (12.2% share), while FCA Group sales of 9,855 units increased 25.0% (5.1% share).
Toyota Group sales of 8,134 units increased 10.5% (4.2% share).
Ford Group sales of 7,723 units decreased 6.1% (4.0% share), while BMW Group sales of 7,193 units decreased 0.7% (3.8% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 1.9% in May to 37,554 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in May of 4,389 units increased 2.4% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales rise 9.0% in April
On May 2, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that April new car sales in France of 187,396 units had increased 9.0% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first four months of 2018 increased 4.4% from the same period in 2017 to 744,238 units.
April domestic brand sales of 108,465 units had increased 16.0% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 57.9%.
PSA Group sales of 60,502 units increased 20.2% (32.3% share) while Renault Group sales of 47,954 units increased 11.1% (25.6% share).
Foreign brand sales in April of 78,931 units increased 0.7% (42.1% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 22,756 units increased 5.8% (12.1% share), while FCA Group sales of 9,037 units increased 27.1% (4.8% share).
Toyota Group sales of 8,644 units increased 27.4% (4.6% share).
Hyundai Group sales of 7,614 units increased 31.2% (4.1% share), while Ford Group sales of 7,406 units increased 8.1% (4.0% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 6.9% in April to 38,840 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in April of 4,522 units increased 7.2% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales rise 2.2% in March
On April 3, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that March new car sales in France of 231,110 units had increased 2.2% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first three months of 2018 increased 2.9% from the same period in 2017 to 556,849 units.
March domestic brand sales of 135,148 units had increased 9.2% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 58.5%.
PSA Group sales of 72,008 units increased 14.4% (31.2% share) while Renault Group sales of 63,119 units increased 3.9% (27.3% share).
Foreign brand sales in March of 95,962 units decreased 6.3% (41.5% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 26,357 units increased 7.3% (11.4% share), while FCA Group sales of 10,751 units increased 10.7% (4.7% share).
Ford Group sales of 10,335 units increased 2.9% (4.5% share).
Toyota Group sales of 8,753 units decreased 13.9% (3.8% share), while BMW Group sales of 8,321 units increased 3.0% (3.6% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 8.2% in March to 48,224 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in March of 4,964 units increased 6.1% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales rise 4.3% in February
On March 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that February new car sales in France of 168,897 units had increased 4.3% from the same month one year ago.
New car sales for the first two months of 2018 increased 3.4% from the same period in 2017 to 325,743 units.
February domestic brand sales of 95,061 units had increased 12.7% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 56.3%.
PSA Group sales of 54,707 units increased 23.4% (32.4% share) while Renault Group sales of 40,323 units increased 0.9% (23.9% share).
Foreign brand sales in February of 73,836 units decreased 4.8% (43.7% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 19,820 units increased 4.0% (11.7% share), while Toyota Group sales of 8,356 units decreased 2.1% (4.9% share).
FCA Group sales of 7,751 units increased 13.8% (4.6% share).
Ford sales of 7,249 units decreased 5.0% (4.3% share), while BMW Group sales of 6,817 units increased 5.5% (4.0% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 3.6% in February to 35,818 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in February of 3,956 units increased 12.3% from the same month a year ago.

French car sales increase 2.5% in January 2018
On February 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that January new car sales in France of 156,851 units had increased 2.5% from the same month one year ago.
January domestic brand sales of 92,932 units had increased 11.7% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 59.2%.
PSA Group sales of 55,745 units increased 18.5% (35.5% share) while Renault Group sales of 37,170 units increased 2.9% (23.7% share).
Foreign brand sales in January of 63,919 units decreased 8.5% (40.8% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 16,646 units decreased 14.3% (10.6% share), while Toyota Group sales of 8,474 units increased 6.9% (5.4% share).
Ford sales of 6,933 units decreased 2.6% (4.4% share).
FCA Group sales of 6,761 units increased 9.4% (4.3% share), while BMW Group sales of 5,907 units decreased 0.3% (3.8% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 5.8% in January to 32,718 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in January of 4,450 units increased 11.5% from the same month a year ago.
