Turkish vehicle sales down 3.0% and production up 0.6% in February
The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) announced that Turkish vehicle sales of 91,053 units in February 2026 represented a 3.0% decrease over February 2025. Passenger vehicles sales decreased 8.2% to 69,776 units, commercial vehicles sales increased 19.3% to 21,277 units. Due to the record-breaking sales increase in 2025, which brought demand forward, passenger car sales in February declined significantly.
According to the data from Automotive Distributors Association (ODD), Renault sales were 11,898 units in February (13.5% market share), Peugeot sales were 8,244 units (9.4% share), Fiat sales were 7,542 units (8.6% share), Toyota sales were 7,535 units (8.6% share) and VW sales were 5,580 units (6.3% share).
In passenger vehicles, gasoline-engine vehicles decreased 23.2% to 29,248 units (41.9% share), diesel-engine vehicles decreased 17.4% to 4,648 units (6.7% share), hybrid vehicles including PHEVs and MHEVs increased 11.0% to 23,665 units (33.9% share), EVs including range extender EVs increased 14.6% to 11,998 units (17.2% share).
Turkiye’s production of 116,037 units in February was up 0.6% YoY.
Vehicle imports were down 5.9% to 59,786 units and vehicle exports were down 0.1% to 79,850 units in February.

Turkish vehicle sales up 10.1% and production down 5.2% in January
The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) announced that Turkish vehicle sales of 77,590 units in January 2026 represented a 10.1% increase over January 2025. Passenger vehicles sales increased 9.1% to 61,055 units, commercial vehicles sales increased 13.9% to 16,535 units. Commercial vehicles have seen double-digit growth compared to the same month last year for two consecutive months, and passenger cars sales also continue to perform well.
According to the data from Automotive Distributors Association (ODD), Renault sales were 9,247 units in January (12.3% market share), Toyota sales were 8,700 units (11.5% share), VW sales were 6,580 units (8.7% share), Fiat sales were 6,133 units (8.1% share) and Ford sales were 5,339 units (7.1% share).
In passenger vehicles, gasoline-engine vehicles decreased 2.4% to 26,671 units (43.7% share), diesel-engine vehicles decreased 25.6% to 4,203 units (6.9% share), hybrid vehicles including PHEVs and MHEVs increased 13.4% to 18,774 units (30.7% share), EVs including range extender EVs increased 81.6% to 11,304 units (18.5% share).
Turkiye’s production of 99,247 units in January was down 5.2% YoY.
Vehicle imports were up 5.1% to 50,036 units and vehicle exports were down 17.2% to 64,725 units in January.
