Geely unveils new Zeekr brand; Great Wall launches Tank brand; BYD upgrades its electric platform

 This report presents a general overview of the exhibitions of Geely, Great Wall Motor and BYD, which are major privately-owned Chinese manufacturers, focusing on NEVs (New Energy Vehicles) and some gasoline-powered models shown at the Auto Shanghai 2021.
 The Geely Group showcased many of its brands, including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Polestar, and Geometry. At this year's show, the Zeekr 001 , the first model of the premium EV brand Zeekr, garnered much attention. The Lynk & Co brand exhibited models including the Lynk & Co 02 Hatchback and Lynk & Co 05 PHEV. The Geometry brand launched its new model, the Geometry A Pro. Volvo Car presented the improved Volvo XC60  and several new versions of the Polestar 2.
 Great Wall Motor exhibited several models of its affiliated brands’ Lemon platform and Smart Coffee system which were presented at the 2020 Beijing Motor Show. From the luxury SUV brand WEY, the off-road vehicle "Tank" was spun off as a new independent brand and its logo was announced. With this, Tank became Great Wall Motor’s fifth affiliated brand, following Haval, WEY, Great Wall Pickup Truck, and ORA. ORA's booth was decorated in pink, and its main model this time expressed a princess's dream (“jumping inside the Punk Cat is like boarding the pumpkin coach from a princess’s dream”) and two new models were launched: the Lightning Cat, a compact electric sports car, and the retro-style Punk Cat. The POER series of Great Wall Motor’s Pickup Truck brand exhibited all the versions of its “5 Guns 3 Bullets” model, which excited the attendees.
 BYD has officially released its new electric platform, the e-Platform 3.0. At the same time, the company unveiled its new design concepts, the X DREAM and EA1. It also launched its flagship SUV, the 2021 model year hybrid Tang DM-i.
