The Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024 was held in conjunction with CEATEC 2024, a comprehensive exhibition of digital innovation by the IT and electronics industries. (Dates: October 15 - 18, 2024; Venue: Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba Prefecture)
The Japan Mobility Show, which changed from the Tokyo Motor Show last year, is held every other year, and although 2024 is not a show year, it was renamed Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024 as "a business event where startups and established companies join forces to create new businesses."
The Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024 had 203 exhibitors (145 startup exhibitors and 58 exhibitors from established companies, Japan Auto Parts Industries Association (JAPIA) member companies, and Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) member companies). As an event "where the mobility industry and startup companies that will lead the next generation can interact for co-creation toward the common goal of building a sustainable future," there were many startup booths (transformation, manufacturing, carbon neutrality, supply chains), while booths of member companies of JAMA, the organizer of the event, and JAPIA, the co-organizer, were limited; and there were few exhibits by Tier 1 suppliers, making it a different exhibition from the usual.
In addition, the Japan Mobility Show Bizweek was held using only Exhibition Hall 1, whereas CEATEC was held in Exhibition Halls 2 to 8.
The number of visitors to Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024 has not been announced, but the number of visitors to CEATEC 2024, for which admission registration was common for both, was 112,014 (four-day total), reflecting a 25.8% increase from last fall's 89,047 visitors. This is believed to be the result of the broadening of the industry by the co-hosting of the Japan Mobility Show Bizweek.
This report introduces the electrification-related technology exhibits at the Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024 and CEATEC 2024.
